    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3"><handShift new="#und" scribe="Clerical_Hand"/><hi rend="largest"><hi rend="bold">Anne</hi></hi> by the Grace of God of England Scotland France + Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith <choice><orig>+</orig><reg>&amp;</reg></choice>c <hi rend="larger">To all</hi> to whom 
        <lb xml:id="l3"/>these presents shall come  greeting. <hi rend="large"><hi rend="bold">Know Ye</hi></hi> That wee, For divers good Causes and <choice><abbr>Consider<hi rend="overline">acons</hi></abbr><expan>Consideration</expan></choice> us thereunto 
        <lb xml:id="l4"/>moving  of our special Grace certain knowledge and meer motion  <hi rend="large"><hi rend="bold">Have</hi></hi> Given &amp; Granted and by these presents 
        <lb xml:id="l5"/>do give and  grant unto <del type="strikethrough">my</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">my</add> Trusty &amp; well beloved  subject Isaac Newton Esq<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">r</hi></hi>. the Office of Master and Worker of all 
        <lb xml:id="l6"/>our Moneys both  Gold and Silver within our Mint in our Tower of London  and elsewhere in our  Kingdom of England 
        <lb xml:id="l7"/>Together with the Fee or yearly pe<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">n</hi>t</orig><reg>si</reg></choice>on of Five hundred pounds to be Quarterly paid to him from the Five + Twentieth day 
        <lb xml:id="l8"/>of March now last past by Even and Equal por<choice><orig>t<hi rend="overline">on</hi></orig><reg>tion</reg></choice>s out of such moneys as by any Act or Acts of Parliament already 
        <lb xml:id="l9"/>made for Encouraging of Coynage are allowed to <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">be</add> Issued  yearly out of  our Exchequer for the Fees and salaries of the officers 
        <lb xml:id="l10"/>of the Mint or Mints  and towards the providing Maintaining and repairing the Houses offices and  Buildings and 
        <lb xml:id="l11"/>other Vses in the said Act or Acts or any of them  <choice><abbr>me<hi rend="overline">ncon</hi>ed</abbr><expan>mentioned</expan></choice> For so long time as the same shall be + continue  in force 
        <lb xml:id="l12"/>And after the said Act  or Acts of parliament shall cease and be void then the said Fee or yearly <choice><abbr>pe<hi rend="overline">ncon</hi></abbr><expan>pention</expan></choice> to be  paid 
        <lb xml:id="l13"/>out of such other Moneys and in such other manner as shall <del type="strikethrough">be</del> by any Act or Acts  of Parliament hereafter to be 
        <lb xml:id="l14"/>made  be appointed or allowed to be Issued out for  the Fees or  sallaries of the Officers of the Mint or Mints, and in Default 
        <lb xml:id="l15"/>of any such Allowance or appointment to be hereafter made by the Parliament and during  such time or times as 
        <lb xml:id="l16"/>there  shall hereafter happen to be no allowance or appointment made by Authority of Parliament the 
        <lb xml:id="l17"/>said Fee or yearly <choice><abbr>pe<hi rend="overline">nton</hi></abbr><expan>pension</expan></choice> of Five hundred pounds sterling shall be paid unto the said Isaac Newton out of our 
        <lb xml:id="l18"/>Seignierage or allowance for Coynage of Gold and Silver Moneys or other our profits of the Mint.  <hi rend="large"><hi rend="bold">And 
            <lb xml:id="l19"/>Know ye</hi></hi> also, That wee for the Considera<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">to</hi>ons</orig><reg>Considerations</reg></choice> aforesaid <hi rend="large">Have</hi> Given and  Granted and by these presents do 
        <lb xml:id="l20"/>Give and Grant  unto the said Isaac Newton all Ediffices Buildings Gardens and other Fees allowances 
        <lb xml:id="l21"/>profits priviledges Franchises and Immunities belonging to the aforesaid Office <hi rend="large"><hi rend="bold">To Have</hi></hi> and to Hold 
        <lb xml:id="l22"/>the said Office of Master and Worker unto the said  Isaac Newton (to be  exercised by himself or his sufficient 
        <lb xml:id="l23"/>deputy or deputies for whom he will answer) and also the  said Fee or yearly <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="overline">enc</hi>on</abbr><expan>pension</expan></choice> of Five hundred pounds 
        <lb xml:id="l24"/>sterling Together  with the said Houses Ediffices Buildings Gardens and <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>ther Fees Allowances profits 
        <lb xml:id="l25"/>Advantages priviledges Franchises Liberties and Immunities for and during our pleasure in as full + ample 
        <lb xml:id="l26"/>manner to all Intents  and  purposes as the said Isaac Newton or Thomas Neale E<hi rend="overline">sq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</hi> deceased or any 
        <lb xml:id="l27"/>others heretofore holding the said office have had held and Enjoyed or ought to have had held or Enjoyed the 
        <lb xml:id="l28"/>same <hi rend="larger"><hi rend="bold">Provided</hi></hi> alwaies and under this Condition and  our Will and pleasure is, That the  said 
        <lb xml:id="l29"/>Isaac Newton after he is in <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">possio</hi>n</abbr><expan>possession</expan></choice> of  the said Office by virtue of these presents shall within Two months next 
        <lb xml:id="l30"/>after  signification of our pleasure in that behalf by the High <choice><abbr>Tr<hi rend="overline">ear</hi></abbr><expan>Treasurer</expan></choice> or <choice><abbr>Co<hi rend="overline">mm<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice>  of the <choice><abbr>Tr<hi rend="overline">ea</hi>ry</abbr><expan>Treasury</expan></choice> for the time being 
        <lb xml:id="l31"/>make and Execute on his part  such Indenture  and Agreement for and concerning the making  of the several sorts 
        <lb xml:id="l32"/>of Money <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">of</add> Gold and Silver and for payment of the several officers of the Mint and other   matters and things relating 
        <lb xml:id="l33"/>thereunto and to the Execution of the said Office as were  formerly made, with <choice><abbr>Alt<hi rend="overline">eraton</hi>s</abbr><expan>Alterations</expan></choice>  and <choice><abbr>Add<hi rend="overline">ito</hi>ns</abbr><expan>Additions</expan></choice>if any shall 
        <lb xml:id="l34"/>be thought fit and directed by  us for the better mannagement and Carrying on of that  service <hi rend="large"><hi rend="bold">Lastly</hi></hi> we have 
        <lb xml:id="l35"/>Revoked and Determined and by these presents do Revoke and  Determine certain Letters Patents under the Great Seal 
        <lb xml:id="l36"/>of England bearing date the Third day of February in the Eleveanth year of the Reign of our late dear Brother 
        <lb xml:id="l37"/>King William the Third whereby the said Office was Granted  to the said Isaac Newton and every Clause Article 
        <lb xml:id="l38"/>and thing therein  contained <hi rend="larger"><hi rend="bold">In Wittnesse</hi></hi> whereof we have caused these our Letters to be made
        <lb xml:id="l39"/>patents <hi rend="large">Witness</hi> our self at  Westminster the Eleaventh day of Iune in the First year of our Reign</p>
