<p xml:id="par4">The Office of Assistant to the Chief Graver of <del type="cancelled">his <unclear reason="del" cert="medium">Ma</unclear></del> Your <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l2"/>Mint being vacant by the death of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del>Samuel Bull, &amp; by a clause <lb xml:id="l3"/>in the Letters Patent constituting the said Chief &amp; <del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>ssistant Gravers <lb xml:id="l4"/>it being directed that in case the said Assistants place <del type="cancelled">becomes</del> shall become <lb xml:id="l5"/>void it may be filled up by such probationer or apprentice as shall be <lb xml:id="l6"/>presented to your Majesty by the Warden, Master &amp; Worker <del type="cancelled">of his</del> <lb xml:id="l7"/>&amp; Comptroller of <del type="cancelled">his</del> the Mint, by warrant under your Majesties <lb xml:id="l8"/>Royal signe Manual: We the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> Officers of your Maj<unclear reason="hand"><del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add></unclear>sties Mint do <lb xml:id="l9"/>most humbly present to your most sacred Majesty M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> John Rollos <lb xml:id="l10"/>(to whom for his skill &amp; abilities in engraving, your Majesty hath been <lb xml:id="l11"/>lately pleased to grant the Office of Engraver of your signets seales <lb xml:id="l12"/>stamps &amp; arms) <choice><sic>paying</sic><corr source="Newton Correspondence">praying</corr></choice> that the said Office <del type="cancelled">A</del> of Assistant <lb xml:id="l13"/>Graver may be filled up by the said M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> John Rollos by <del type="strikethrough">your Majesties</del> <lb xml:id="l14"/>warrant under your Majesties Royal signe Manual</p>
