        <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par1"><del type="blockStrikethrough">Whereas great complaints have been made concerning the melting down of the <lb xml:id="l1"/>current coyn of this kingdome in private <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">places</add> for exportation notwithstanding the good laws <lb xml:id="l2"/>to the contrary and whereas the Merchants who import Bullion from abroad <lb xml:id="l3"/>are at greater charge and trouble then is necessary in carrying the same with <lb xml:id="l4"/>their witnesses <del type="strikethrough">in order to get</del> from place to place in order to get the silver melted <lb xml:id="l5"/>(if it be not yet in the Ingot) &amp; the Ingots marked &amp; certfied for exportation <lb xml:id="l6"/>Be it enacted by the Kings most excellent Majesty by and with the advice <lb xml:id="l7"/>and consent of the Lords spiritual &amp; temporal and of the Commons in this <lb xml:id="l8"/>present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same that from <lb xml:id="l9"/>and after the <hi rend="underline">tenth</hi><space unit="chars" dim="horizontal" extent="3"/> day of <hi rend="underline">May</hi> <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> which shall be in the year <lb xml:id="l10"/>of o<hi rend="superscript">er</hi> Lord. One thousand seven hundred and <hi rend="underline">two</hi></del> <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> all Bullion or molten <lb xml:id="l11"/>silver and all manufactured silver whatsoever which shall be imported from <lb xml:id="l12"/>any foreign Region or Country into this Kingdome <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; Port of London</add> <del type="cancelled">shall</del> either in Barrs Ingots <lb xml:id="l13"/>Wedges Cakes Pinas or in any other form whatsoever and shall be designed for <lb xml:id="l14"/>exportation shall upon its first coming up the River of Thames to the Custome <lb xml:id="l15"/>House be brought into his Majesties Mint in the Tower of London by the <lb xml:id="l16"/>Master of the Ship and one or more other Witneses <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">who </add> <del type="cancelled">w</del> shall there shew their <lb xml:id="l17"/>Bill of lading to the Master <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; Worker</add> of the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> Mint or his Deputy <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or Deputies</add> &amp; before him <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or them</add> give account <lb xml:id="l18"/>thereof and prive <del type="strikethrough">the importation by the following oath: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ <lb xml:id="l19"/>~ ~ You shall swear</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">upon oath</add> that all the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> silver <del type="strikethrough">have shewed</del> was brought in <del type="strikethrough">your</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">their</add> <lb xml:id="l20"/>ship fro<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">m</add><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> beyond the seas into this kingdome and was part of <del type="strikethrough">your</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">the</add> lading of <del type="strikethrough">your</del><add indicator="no" place="supralinear">their</add> <lb xml:id="l21"/>ship mentioned in the Bill of lading <del type="strikethrough">now shewed unto you</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">produced by them</add> and that to the best of <del type="strikethrough">your</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">their</add>

            knowledge no part <del type="strikethrough">thereof was before the same was molten the coyn of this Realm <lb xml:id="l22"/>or clippings thereof nor Plate wrought within this kingdome So help you God</del><add place="interlinear" indicator="no">of the said silver <del type="strikethrough">hath</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">was</add> been heretofore <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">unlawfully</add> exported out of this kingdom <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or molten out of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> current co<del type="over">y</del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add> thereof, or out <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">of Plate manufactured therein</add></add>. Which Oath the said Master of the Mint <del type="strikethrough">&amp; his Deput or any of them is</del> <add indicator="no" place="supralinear">or <del type="cancelled">&amp;</del> his Deput<del type="over">i</del><add indicator="no" place="over">y</add><del type="cancelled">es</del> <del type="strikethrough"><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="6"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">or any</add> of them is are then prsent is</del></add> is <del type="cancelled"><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add></del> is hereby authorised &amp; required to administer <del type="strikethrough">or to cause the same to be administred by his Deputy</del></add> And after <lb xml:id="l23"/>such proof made the said Barrs Ingots Wedges Cakes or other molten masses of <lb xml:id="l24"/>silver shall at the choise of the Merchant be either coyned into monies or <lb xml:id="l25"/>marked by the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> Master <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; Worker</add> of the Mint or his Deputy with a Mark or Stamp which the <lb xml:id="l26"/>said Master <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">&amp; Worker</add> of the Mint is herby required to provide. And be it further enacted <lb xml:id="l27"/>by the authority aforesaid that all silver imported <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> by the said proof shall appear <lb xml:id="l28"/>to be foreign &amp; is not yet molte<add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del></add>n into Ingotts Cakes or other masses aforesaid and all <lb xml:id="l29"/>forreign monies brought to his Majesties MInt, shall if the Merchant desire it, be there <lb xml:id="l30"/><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">m</add>olten down into Ingots by the Master <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">&amp; Worker</add> of the said Mint or his Deputy, the Mer<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l31"/>chant paying for the melting after the rate of <hi rend="underline">one penny</hi> per pound weight Troy <lb xml:id="l32"/>for every Ingot exceeding <hi rend="underline">twelve pounds</hi> weight. And these Ingots shall at the <lb xml:id="l33"/>choise of the Merchant be either coyned into monies or marked by the <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">said</add> Master <lb xml:id="l34"/>of the Mint or his Deputy with the Mark or Stamp above mentioned. And be it <lb xml:id="l35"/>further enacted by the authority aforesaid that all Ingots Cakes or other molten <lb xml:id="l36"/>masses of forreign silver <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> shall be entered in a Book <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">p</add>rovided in the Mint for <lb xml:id="l37"/>that purpose, and the Master of the Mint or his Deputy shall without fee or reward <lb xml:id="l38"/>give to the Merchant an indented Ticket or Certificate cut out of the said Book <lb xml:id="l39"/><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">conteining or expressing the name or names of the true owner or owners thereof &amp;</add> certifying the number &amp; weight of the Ingots Cakes or other molten masses of <lb xml:id="l40"/>forreign silver marked as above and also the weight of the <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del> monies coyned <lb xml:id="l41"/>out of any <del type="cancelled">of</del><add place="infralinear" indicator="no"><hi rend="smallest">other</hi></add> Ingots Cakes or <del type="strikethrough">other</del> molten masses of <add indicator="no" place="inline"><hi rend="smallest"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice></hi></add> forreign silver <add place="marginLeft supralinear" indicator="yes">all silver brought to the the Mint as forreign &amp; not proved to forreign as above shall be coyned into monies <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">of equal value <choice><abbr>w.<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> silver</add> &amp; the said <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">shall be</add> delivered to the <del type="strikethrough">Merchant importing the</del> owner of the silver according to the course of the Mint without any Ticket for exporting <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same.</add> And whereas <lb xml:id="l42"/>the liberty of exporting silver only in the forme of Bullion occasions the couning <lb xml:id="l43"/>of considerable quantities thereof by the Indians <del type="strikethrough">in such Ports</del> in such Ports of the

            east Indi<del type="over">an</del><add place="over" indicator="no">es</add><del type="cancelled">s</del> where the Merchants trading to these countries have not a Mint of their own, for <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> coynage the Indians receive of t<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">he</add> Merchants a considerable seigniorage <lb xml:id="l44"/>or duty at discretion, and the coynage of forreign silver in England with liberty to <lb xml:id="l45"/>export so much money by weight and no more as hath been coyned out of the same <lb xml:id="l46"/>would <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">by the use of the said money circulating in England till exportation</add> be profitable to the Merchant <del type="strikethrough">by the use of the said money till exportation</del> <lb xml:id="l47"/>and <del type="cancelled">would also</del> encrease the coyn of this kingdome <del type="strikethrough">by the <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">use of the</add> said money running amongst <lb xml:id="l48"/>us till exportation and use of the said money <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">circulating</add> in England till exportation.</del> and after <lb xml:id="l49"/>exportation by <del type="strikethrough"><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">their</add></del> <del type="over"/><add place="over" indicator="no">its</add> circulating in foreign <del type="strikethrough">regions</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">countries</add> would make this <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">Kin</add>gdō appear abroad more <lb xml:id="l50"/>rich and potent then at present to the great credit of the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">English</add> nation; Be it there<lb xml:id="l51"/>fore enacted by the authority aforesaid that <del type="strikethrough">the Merchant</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">from and after the <del type="cancelled">tenth</del><add indicator="no" place="supralinear">first</add> day of <del type="cancelled">June</del> <add indicator="no" place="supralinear"><del type="cancelled">May</del></add><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">June</add> aforesaid</add> upon delivering the <lb xml:id="l52"/>said Tickets or any of them at the Custome house <del type="strikethrough">may within one years after <lb xml:id="l53"/>the making of the Bullion or coyning of the monies certified in the said Tickets <lb xml:id="l54"/>so delivered</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">the Merchant</add> by Warrant <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or Cocket</add> of the Commissioners of the Customes or any <space unit="chars" dim="horizontal" extent="10"/> of them <lb xml:id="l55"/><del type="strikethrough">upon a day appointed in the Warrant</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">mentioning</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> they are hereby upon the</add> <choice><sic>the</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice> receipt of the said Ticket<del type="cancelled">s</del> <del type="over">,</del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>r Tickets (&amp; not otherwise) impowered <del type="strikethrough">to grant</del> &amp; required to grant,</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">may</add> within <hi rend="underline">one year</hi> after the marking of the <lb xml:id="l56"/>Bullion or coyning of the monies certified in the said Tickets or Tickets so delivered <lb xml:id="l57"/>upon a day appointed in the Warrant ship <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or cause to be shipt</add> for exportation the said Bullion so <lb xml:id="l58"/>marked <del type="over">&amp;</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>nd certfified or any part thereof and also the said English silver monies <lb xml:id="l59"/>so certified or the same weight of English silver monies or any part thereof. And <lb xml:id="l60"/>the Customer shall enter the saide <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">bullion and monies in a book provided in the Custom House for that purpose</add> and <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">shall</add> file the Tickets. And the Merchant upon <lb xml:id="l61"/>shipping the said English silver monies for exportation shall pay <hi rend="underline">three half pence</hi> <lb xml:id="l62"/>per ounce Troy at the Custome house for the Charge of assaying melting and <lb xml:id="l63"/>coyning the same which Duty shall be kept apart with the Duty granted for <lb xml:id="l64"/>encouragement of coynage and therewith paid into the Exchequer and thence imprest

            to the Master <del type="strikethrough">of the</del><add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">&amp; Worker of his Majesties</add> Mint for the same uses; And it shall and may be lawfull <lb xml:id="l65"/>for the Merchant to export the Bullion so shipt any law or stature to the <lb xml:id="l66"/>contrary in any wise notwithstanding. And be it further enacted by the <lb xml:id="l67"/>suthority aforesaid that it shall not be lawfull for any person or persons what<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l68"/>soever to export or to ship or <del type="strikethrough">or carry on b<add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">o</add>ard any ship n</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">cause to be shipt or put on board</add> or to buy or sell any <lb xml:id="l69"/>Ingots Barrs Wedges Cakes or other molten masses of Silver not mark<del type="over">t</del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">d</add> with <lb xml:id="l70"/>the Mint stamp above mentioned nor to ship <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or cause to be shipt or put on board</add> any silver on any other day then <lb xml:id="l71"/>tha<del type="over">p</del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> appointed in the Warrant aforesaid except pocket money allowed to be exported <lb xml:id="l72"/>nor to export any silver (other then pocket money aforesaid) out of any other Port <lb xml:id="l73"/>of England then that of London nor to export any silver out of Ireland except <lb xml:id="l74"/>into England. And of any person or persons whatsoever shall shop <del type="strikethrough">any silver</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">or cause to be shipt or put <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">on board</add></del></add> <lb xml:id="l75"/><add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">or cause to be shipt or put on board any molten silver or</add> Bullion not markt with the Mark or Stampt a<del type="over">f</del><add place="over" indicator="no">b</add>ovementioned or any <del type="strikethrough">more</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">greater quantity of</add> Bullion <lb xml:id="l76"/>or English silver monies then is certified in the Mint <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">Ticket or</add> Tickets delivered to the Customer <lb xml:id="l77"/><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">q?</add> as above or shall ship any Bullion or Monies in any other name then that of the <lb xml:id="l78"/>true owner or on any other day then that appointed in the Warrant aforesaid <del type="strikethrough">or <lb xml:id="l79"/>shall knowingly bring silver to the Mint to be marked with the Mint stamp</del> or <lb xml:id="l80"/><del type="strikethrough">coyned as forreign which is not forreign [or shall buy or sell any bullion which is <lb xml:id="l81"/>not markt <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">it</add> with the stamp aforesaid], the said Person or Persons so offending shall <lb xml:id="l82"/>forfeit the said silver Bullion and monies and also the summ of <space unit="chars" dim="horizontal" extent="8"/> hundred <lb xml:id="l83"/>pounds the one half to the King the other half to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Discoverer or Informer &amp;c</del><add place="interlinear" indicator="no">it shall &amp; may be lawfull to &amp; for any Officer or Officers of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> customes or any other person or persons whatsoever to seize such molten silver &amp; Bullion so shipped <del type="over">&amp;</del><add place="over" indicator="no">or</add> put in board as forefeited the one <del type="strikethrough"><hi rend="underline">half</hi></del><add indicator="no" place="supralinear">Moiety</add> whereof shall be to his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice> his Heirs &amp; successors &amp; the other <del type="strikethrough">half to</del> <hi rend="underline">Moiety</hi> to</add> <lb xml:id="l84"/>Officer or Officers or person or persons so seizing the same: And the owner or owners proprietor or <lb xml:id="l85"/><anchor xml:id="p580r-01"/><note place="marginLeft" target="#p580r-01"><del type="strikethrough">An. 7 &amp; 8 Gub. p. 461</del></note> proprietors of such <del type="strikethrough">molten silver or</del> bullion or monies shall forfeit <hi rend="underline">double</hi> the value of such <del type="strikethrough">molten <lb xml:id="l86"/>silver or</del> Bullion or Monies one <hi rend="underline">moiety</hi> whereof shall be to his Majesty &amp; the other <hi rend="underline">Moiety</hi> to the

            person that shall see or inform for the same <hi rend="underline">to be recovered with costs of suit <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">in any of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Courts of Record</add> by action of <lb xml:id="l87"/>debt Bill Plaint or Information wherin no Privilige Protection or Wager of Law shall be allowed <lb xml:id="l88"/>nor any more then one Imparlance</hi>; and the Captain or Master of such ship or vessel <lb xml:id="l89"/>if the same belong to a susject who shall knowingly permit the said Molten silver or Bullion <lb xml:id="l90"/>to be put on board his Ship or Vessel shall forfeit to such person or persons as shall sue <lb xml:id="l91"/>or inform for the same the summ of <hi rend="underline">two hundred</hi> pounds to be sued for and recovered in <lb xml:id="l92"/>manner as aforesaid and in case the Ship or Vessel be a man of Warr or vessel <lb xml:id="l93"/>belonging to his Majesty then the Captain thereof shall forfeit the summ of <hi rend="underline">two hundred</hi> <lb xml:id="l94"/>pounds to any person that shall sue for the same as aforesaid &amp; shall also forfeit <lb xml:id="l95"/>his imployment &amp; be made uncapable of any Office or Imployment Civil or Military. <lb xml:id="l96"/>And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid that if any Commissioner or Commissi<lb xml:id="l97"/>oners Offi<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">er</add> <del type="cancelled">Cus</del> or Officers of the Customes shall grant any Warrant or Cocket for <lb xml:id="l98"/>exporting of any <del type="strikethrough">molten silver or</del><add indicator="no" place="supralinear">molten silver or</add> Bullion <del type="strikethrough">whatsoever</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or English monies</add> whatsoever before such Ticket or <lb xml:id="l99"/>Certificate <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">concerning the same</add> be delivered at the Custome-house as by this Act is directed and entry thereof <lb xml:id="l100"/>made in the Book hereby directed to be kept by the <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="superscript">ers</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of the Customes that <lb xml:id="l101"/>every such Commissioner &amp; Officer of the Customes so offending shall forfeit the summ <lb xml:id="l102"/>of <hi rend="underline">two hundred</hi> pounds &amp; be made uncapable of any <del type="strikethrough">other</del> office or place of profit <lb xml:id="l103"/>or trust whatsoever. And it be further enacted <del type="strikethrough">that</del> by the authority aforesaid that <lb xml:id="l104"/>in case any seizure of any molten silver or bullion or <del type="cancelled">silv</del> English silver monies shall hap<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l105"/>pen to be made in pursuance of this Act <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">as above</add> or that any Action Bill Plaint or Information <lb xml:id="l106"/>shall be broughtfor any of the forfeitures <del type="strikethrough"><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or penalties</add> in this Act</del> or penalties incurred by this Act and <lb xml:id="l107"/>a doubt or question shall arise theron whether the molten silver or Bullion or English <lb xml:id="l108"/>silver monies so seized <del type="strikethrough"><add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">or any part thereof</add></del> were really and truly forreign Bullion or monies coyned out of forreign <fw type="catch" place="bottomRight">Bullion</fw>

            <del type="cancelled">or</del><add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">Bullion, or of the like value, or</add> prohibited to be exported, or otherwise forfeited by this Act, in every such case the <lb xml:id="l109"/>proof shall lye on the part of the <del type="over">o</del><add place="over" indicator="no">O</add>wner Proprietor or Claimer of such <del type="strikethrough">molten SIlver</del> <lb xml:id="l110"/><del type="cancelled">or</del> Bullion or Monies or of the <del type="over">p</del><add place="over" indicator="no">P</add>arty sued, &amp; in default of such proof the Bullion or <lb xml:id="l111"/>monies in question shall be adjudged deemed construed &amp; taken to be Bullion or monies <lb xml:id="l112"/>forfeited by this Act &amp; liable to the penalties before mentioned. And be it further enacted <lb xml:id="l113"/>by the authority aforesaid that if any person or persons whatsoever shall b<del type="over">y</del><add place="over" indicator="no">u</add>y or sell any <lb xml:id="l114"/>molten silver or Bullion not markt with the stamp aforesaid, it shall be lawfull for any <lb xml:id="l115"/>other person or persons whatsoever to seize the same as forfeited the one <del type="strikethrough">half to</del> <hi rend="underline">Moiety</hi> <lb xml:id="l116"/>whereof shall be to his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice> his heirs or successors &amp; the other <hi rend="underline">Moiety</hi> to the person or <lb xml:id="l117"/>persons <add place="inline" indicator="no">so</add> seizing the same. And be it further enacted <del type="strikethrough">that if any</del> by the authority <choice><abbr>aforesd</abbr><expan>aforesaid</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l118"/>that if any person or persons whatsoever shall counterfeit the Mark or Stamp <del type="strikethrough">aforesaid</del> <lb xml:id="l119"/>above mentioned upon any Ingot Barr Cake Wedge or other Mass of molten silver or shall <lb xml:id="l120"/>counterfeit any Puncheon Stamp or Dye for making the said Mark or shall counter<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l121"/>feit any Ticket or Tickets <del type="strikethrough">for expo</del> of the Master &amp; Worker of <del type="cancelled">the</del><add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">his Majesties</add> Mint for pro<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l122"/>curing the exportation of <del type="cancelled">the</del> any Bullion or Monies as aforesiad such person or <lb xml:id="l123"/>persons so offending shall be deemed &amp; adjudged guilty of <hi rend="underline">Felony and being thereof con<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l124"/>victed or attainted according to the order &amp; course of the laws <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear"><del type="strikethrough">of this Realm</del></add></hi> <del type="strikethrough">shall suffer death as in <lb xml:id="l125"/>case of Felony</del> <hi rend="underline">of this Realm</hi> <del type="strikethrough">shall be excluded the benefit of his her or their clergy &amp;</del> <lb xml:id="l126"/><hi rend="underline">shall suffer death as in case of Felony <del type="strikethrough">in such manner &amp; form</del></hi> <del type="strikethrough">as they were no Clerks</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">without benefit of Clergy</add> <lb xml:id="l127"/><del type="blockStrikethrough">And wheras <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">by certain classes</add> in an Act of Parliament made in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> sixt year of his Majesties Reign <lb xml:id="l128"/><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">it is enacted that</add> no molten silver may be transported unless the same be first marked or stamped at Gold<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l129"/>Smiths Hall &amp; there proved &amp; certified to be forreign slver, and by another Act made in the <lb xml:id="l130"/>Seventh year of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> reign <choice><sic>intuled</sic><corr>intituled</corr></choice> <del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>n Act to encourage the bringing Pate into the Mint</del>

            <del type="blockStrikethrough">to be coyned and for the further remedying the ill state of the Coyn of the Kingdome <lb xml:id="l131"/>it <del type="cancelled">was</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">is</add> enacted that no Bullion be shipped for exportation without cerficate from the court <lb xml:id="l132"/>of the Lord Mayor &amp; Aldermen of the CIty of London that the same hath <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">before them</del></add> been proved <del type="cancelled">to <lb xml:id="l133"/>be</del> upon oath <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">made before them</add> to be forreign bullion, &amp; certain penalties <del type="over">w</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>re laid upon them who, <del type="strikethrough">without</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">shall</add> <lb xml:id="l134"/><del type="strikethrough">such proof &amp; marke &amp; certificates should export <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">any</add> Bullion; Be it shall<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/>d ship &amp;</del></del> export or <lb xml:id="l135"/>ship any <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">other</add> Bullion then forreign, <del type="strikethrough"><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> was not forreing</del> Be it further enacted <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">by the authority aforesaid</add> tha<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del>t all the <lb xml:id="l136"/>said clauses of the two Acts of Parliament aforesaid <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> relate to the Marking certi<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l137"/>fying &amp; exporting of forreign Bullion &amp; punishing Offenders who export other Bullion then <lb xml:id="l138"/>forreign <add indicator="yes" place="supralinear">be repealed &amp; they</add> are hereby repealed &amp; made voyd.</del></p>
