    <p rend="center" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="large">The clause in the Indenture of the <lb xml:id="l1"/>Mint appointing the allowance <lb xml:id="l2"/>per pound weight for coinage</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par2">And the said Isaac Newton shall have &amp; receive <lb xml:id="l3"/>the summe of one shilling &amp; four pence half penny <lb xml:id="l4"/><del type="strikethrough">per</del> to be by him taken for the coinage of every pound <lb xml:id="l5"/>weight Troy of silver moneys for the paying bearing <lb xml:id="l6"/>&amp; susteining of all manner of wasts, provisions, necessa<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l7"/>ries &amp; charges com<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>ng arising &amp; growing in or about <lb xml:id="l8"/>the coyning of <del type="strikethrough">silver moneys</del> h<del type="over">is</del><add place="over" indicator="no">er</add> M<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>jesties Crowns half <lb xml:id="l9"/>crowns shillings &amp; sixpences of silver money by the Mill <lb xml:id="l10"/>&amp; press out of the money to be paid &amp; payabl<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> unto <lb xml:id="l11"/>him as is herein after expressed.     <p xml:id="par4">It is our will &amp; pleasure &amp; We do hereby authorize &amp; <lb xml:id="l23"/>requ<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">r</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>re you &amp; every of you, That in the coynage of such <lb xml:id="l24"/>Gold &amp; Silver as shall be imported into Out Mint at Edin<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l25"/>burgh, you act under &amp; observe the Rules of Coynage <lb xml:id="l26"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> respect your several Offices &amp; conteined &amp; <lb xml:id="l27"/>exprest in the Copie of the Indenture herewith sent, <lb xml:id="l28"/>attested by <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton Master &amp; Worker &amp; <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Ellys Es <lb xml:id="l29"/>Comptroller of our said Mint: which Indenture was made in the <lb xml:id="l30"/>first year of <choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> reign with the said <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton &amp;c.</p>
