        <lb xml:id="l4"/>which relates to the continuing of the Mint in Scotland, 
        <lb xml:id="l5"/>together <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> that part of the Act of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> which 
        <lb xml:id="l6"/>we think Necessary to be done whereby the same 
        <lb xml:id="l7"/>may be effectually put in Execution, We humbly 
        <lb xml:id="l8"/>represent to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">p</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship.</expan></choice></p>
        
        <p xml:id="par4"><hi rend="large">That</hi> whereas by the said Act of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> 
            <lb xml:id="l9"/>the Coin is to be of the same Standard and value 
            <lb xml:id="l10"/>throughout the united Kingdome, and Whereas also 
            <lb xml:id="l11"/>by the Indenture of her Majestys Mint in England 
            <lb xml:id="l12"/>the Warden is Order'd to make Standard Weights for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> 
            <lb xml:id="l13"/>is Order'd to make Standard Weights for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l14"/>Mint of both Nations to be examin'd and approved <lb xml:id="l15"/>by the Officers of the English Mint and then Mark'd by <lb xml:id="l16"/>the said Warden (which Clause we conceive to have <lb xml:id="l17"/>been inserted into the said Indenture upon an <lb xml:id="l18"/>Ancient Treaty between the Two Nations) We are <lb xml:id="l19"/>humbly of Opinion that two New Piles of Troy weights <lb xml:id="l20"/>one for each Mint be made exactly of the same <lb xml:id="l21"/>weight <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> the Standard Troy Weights in the Excheq<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>uer</reg></choice> <lb xml:id="l22"/>and examin'd approv'd and stamp'd According to the <lb xml:id="l23"/>directions of the said Indenture.</p>

    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par5">And that by a Iury of Goldsmiths (according to the <lb xml:id="l24"/>direction of the same Indenture) there be made out of <lb xml:id="l25"/>the same Molten Mass of Gold Six Trial <choice><abbr>ꝑ<hi rend="overline">ce</hi>s</abbr><expan>pieces</expan></choice> for Standard <lb xml:id="l26"/>Gold, and out of the same Molten Mass of Silver Six <lb xml:id="l27"/>trial <choice><abbr>ꝑ<hi rend="overline">ce</hi>s</abbr><expan>pieces</expan></choice> for Standard Silver viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. one of each sort <lb xml:id="l28"/>for the Excheq<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>uer</reg></choice> at Westminst<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>er</reg></choice> to try the pix, two of <lb xml:id="l29"/>each sort for the proper Officers of each Mint to make <lb xml:id="l30"/>and examine the mony, and one of each sort for the <lb xml:id="l31"/>Goldsmiths</p>
            
            <p xml:id="par6"><hi rend="large">A</hi>nd We are further of opinion that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> mony <lb xml:id="l32"/>coin'd in both Mints be of the same sizes and stamp, <lb xml:id="l33"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> some letter or other Mark set upon the Scotch mony <lb xml:id="l34"/>to distinguish it from the Mony coin'd in England, as <lb xml:id="l35"/>was lately practic'd in the Country Mints</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par7">And whereas by the Act of Vnion, <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">T</add>he Mint <lb xml:id="l36"/>is to be continued in Scotland under the same rules as <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l37"/>Mint in England, and the present Officers of that Mint <lb xml:id="l38"/>continued Subject to such regulations as her Majesty 
        <lb xml:id="l39"/>&amp;c<hi rend="superscript">a</hi>. shall think fitt: We are humbly of Opinion that in 
        <lb xml:id="l40"/>Order thereunto, so much of the Indenture of the Mint in 
        <lb xml:id="l41"/>England as contains the rules for coynage be transmitted 
        <lb xml:id="l42"/>to the Mint in Scotland, in Order to the drawing up an <lb xml:id="l43"/><choice><abbr>instrum<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>instrument</expan></choice> between her Majesty and the proper Officer <lb xml:id="l44"/>for coyning there under the same rules as in England</p>
        
        <p xml:id="par8">And for the better putting the <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> rules in 
            <lb xml:id="l45"/>practice, the Officers of the Mint in Scotland may have <lb xml:id="l46"/>liberty to send any of their Mi<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add>t to see and learn the <lb xml:id="l47"/>practice of the Mint in the Tower, and that if they desire  <lb xml:id="l48"/>it, an Offer of the English Mint be sent into Scotland to <lb xml:id="l49"/>see the said rules fully put in practice. And that if they <lb xml:id="l50"/>shall want any New Engines, they be provided for them <lb xml:id="l51"/>in the Tower</p>
