<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">In obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order of Reference of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> 12<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Instant <lb xml:id="l2"/>upon the Memorial hereunto annexed, we have considered <lb xml:id="l3"/>the said Memorial &amp; <del type="strikethrough">are humbly of opinion that</del> <del type="blockStrikethrough">[it is <lb xml:id="l4"/>reasonable &amp; agreable to the Indenture of her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l5"/>Mints &amp; at present necessary for the Master of her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l6"/>Mint at Edinburgh to allay the silver molten with Scotch <lb xml:id="l7"/>coal in such manner &amp; proportion as by experience is found <lb xml:id="l8"/>most effectual &amp; exact for making the moneys standard with<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l9"/>out error. For an error in fineness otherwise then by accident <lb xml:id="l10"/>makes the moneys undeliverable. And]</del> since by experiments <lb xml:id="l11"/>made in that Mint the silver in melting <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">with Scotch coal</add> &amp; lading out refines <lb xml:id="l12"/>about three half penny weight in the pound weight Troy as <lb xml:id="l13"/>is alledged in the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice></add> memorial <del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> the moneys coyned by the ancient <lb xml:id="l14"/>method of that mint have passed the trialls of the Pix &amp; <lb xml:id="l15"/>in the last trial proved standard full &amp; there is no time at <lb xml:id="l16"/>present for making experiments to bring this matter to an <lb xml:id="l17"/>exacter regulation. We are humbly of opinion that the <lb xml:id="l18"/>Officers of the said Mint <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes" hand="#unknown1">may</add> be still allowed to use their <lb xml:id="l19"/>ancient method of allaying the <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">meta</unclear></del> molten silver <del type="strikethrough">untill the</del> <lb xml:id="l20"/>to make it standard untill the present recoinage of the moneys <lb xml:id="l21"/>in Scotland shall be finished.
