The privÿy Couuncill of Scotland by yethe Commissione in Auguust 1707. apointedappointed us to receive in at yethe Mint of BrBritain all yethe Scots & forrane Coyne In order to be reduuced to yethe Standart of England, and to see yethe summ melted, weighted, & to grant Certificates to yethe Ingivers upon the Equivalent, for makeing up yethe loss in recoyning.

When at yethe Couuncills earnest desyre we were prest to accoptaccompt of this Commissione, yethe Lordships then promised & yethe Commissione to uus bears that we shall be suufficiently rewarded for one pa & trowble in the matter. We haveing served above a year, have now sent up a Memoriall to Sir David Narne to present to My Lord High Thessauurer to ytthat puurpose, wherin we propose a third prper Cent for all yethe money passes ouur hands, to be payed out of the bullion preceeding yethe Commencement of the Vnion, which is yethe lest We doe expect for ouur attendance and loss of tyme, and when granted will be but a small reward, haveing ouur clerk & other Servants with Charges to pay from it

Sir We have presuumed to trouble you with this becauuse you know what suuch Service deserves and desyre the favouur of you to represent the same to My Lord High Thessauurer, that what we Demand is very modest, and we may presume to say, ytthat hade we barganed with the Couuncill at ouur begining We hade come much better to however yrthere is noe looking back, And yrtherefoore We doe huumbly expect his Lordship will be pleased to grant ouur Sober demands after haveing youur oppinione, which we doubt he will Inquuyre being what relates to yethe Mint, all others abouut it have got payment & we only left wanting, which we doe Impuute to ouur owne Neglect & Modesty in not applying for payment Sooner, youl please anext of this trouble in good ꝑ from
