<p rend="indent15" xml:id="par2">The officers and other servants of her Majestie's Mint <lb xml:id="l1"/>Are straitned for want of their sallaries and fies especially those who have no <lb xml:id="l2"/>other mean of subsistance but the fruits of their Labour; Wherefore I ask Liberty <lb xml:id="l3"/>to give you this trouble to know your opinion what is the best way to get this <lb xml:id="l4"/>remeded (I am unwilling to give My <choice><unclear reason="hand" cert="low"><choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice></unclear><unclear reason="hand" cert="medium"><choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice></unclear></choice> High Thesaurer of Great Britain trouble <lb xml:id="l5"/>upon every occasion) But We having the happiness to be of one Society <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> you (suppose <lb xml:id="l6"/>at a distance) and that you know the methods of payments made to the officers of <lb xml:id="l7"/>their sallaries of her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>ies</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> mint in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Tower, And I humbly Conceive that the same <lb xml:id="l8"/>method will be followed here, for by a Late of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>parliament</expan></choice> of <choice><abbr>G.</abbr><expan>Great</expan></choice> Britain for <lb xml:id="l9"/>Incourageing of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coynage in the mints in Scotland and for prosecuteing <lb xml:id="l10"/>offences Concerning the Coyn in England, it appears to me that both her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>ies</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l11"/>Mints in South and North Britain are to be on one foot; Wherefore Sir it <lb xml:id="l12"/>will be a favour Done to her majesties servants here in the Mint, that you would <lb xml:id="l13"/>give yourself <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Trouble to Cause your Clark Inquire about this affair, &amp; that <lb xml:id="l14"/>he may Transmitt to the Master of the Mint here, what is proper to be Done <lb xml:id="l15"/>thereanent.</p>
