    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4"><hi rend="larger">W</hi><hi rend="large">ee</hi> have considered the annexed Proposall <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> erecting a <lb xml:id="l1"/>Mint in Ireland for coyning shillings and six pences of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l2"/>same weight allay &amp; stamp with those coyned in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Tower, <lb xml:id="l3"/>and believe, <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> such a rivall Mint, may soe farr prejudice <lb xml:id="l4"/>ours, as it may draw Bullion and coynage from us. And if it <lb xml:id="l5"/>shall hereby increase the money of Ireland to the <lb xml:id="l6"/>advantage of their Trade &amp; Manufacture, wee are <lb xml:id="l7"/>humbly of opinion that it must have the contrary effect <lb xml:id="l8"/>on England. Besides the danger of setting Ireland upon <lb xml:id="l9"/>a parity with England in so great a Prerogative as <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l10"/>of Coynage. For the business which <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>hey offer us of <lb xml:id="l11"/>making their Dyes and assaying their Money (that <lb xml:id="l12"/>is of being their Graver and Assaymaster) gives us noe <lb xml:id="l13"/>superiority. These are servile Offices which if it shall <lb xml:id="l14"/>be his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">tys</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> pleasure to erect a Mint in that Kingdom, <lb xml:id="l15"/>we humbly desire may not be imposed on us</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par5"><hi rend="large">Ireland</hi> is one of the English planta<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons, &amp; tho it <lb xml:id="l16"/>has changed <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> title of <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="overline">o<hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> to that of a Kingdom, yet <lb xml:id="l17"/>it still continues annexed to the Crown of England and <lb xml:id="l18"/>like the other planta<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons is and ought to be inferior to <lb xml:id="l19"/>this Kingdom, and subservient to it's interests. And <lb xml:id="l20"/>therefore we are unwilling that any opinion of ours <lb xml:id="l21"/>should be made use of for promoting any designe <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l22"/>may tend to derive thither the money and trade of this <lb xml:id="l23"/>Nation, and to make them of equall dignity and <lb xml:id="l24"/>dominion with our selves, and perhaps at length <lb xml:id="l25"/>desirous to seperate from this Crown, upon some fitt <lb xml:id="l26"/>opportunity of joyning with it's Enemies</p>
