    <p xml:id="par3"><hi rend="large">In</hi> obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order signified to me by M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> 
        <lb xml:id="l2"/>Sc<supplied reason="omitted" source="Newton Correspondence">r</supplied>ope in his Letter o<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">f</add> 10 Apr. instant, concerning the trial of the Pix of 
        <lb xml:id="l3"/>copper moneys coyned by M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Wood at Bristoll, I humbly represent 
        <lb xml:id="l4"/>that the moneys there reserved for a trial are kept lockt up in a 
        <lb xml:id="l5"/>box under the keys of Mr Wood &amp; the Comptroller of that Coynage, 
        <lb xml:id="l6"/>or of their Deputies. And that in my most humble opinion the triall
        <lb xml:id="l7"/>thereof may be more authentick &amp; satisfactory &amp; something cheaper 
        <lb xml:id="l8"/>if the Box before opening be brought up to London, &amp; the moneys <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">b</add>e 
        <lb xml:id="l9"/>tried in his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint in the Tower before the Officers of the said <lb xml:id="l10"/>Mint <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> before the two parties M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Wood &amp; the Comptroller of that <lb xml:id="l11"/>coynage who are both in town &amp; their Deputies &amp; one or two Gentlemen <lb xml:id="l12"/>of Ireland <del type="strikethrough">of</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">whom</add> <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">may</add> think fit to give <del type="strikethrough">them</del> leave to be present if 
        <lb xml:id="l13"/>desired, &amp; before such person or persons as your <choice><abbr>Lor<del type="over">p</del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add><hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> or his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l14"/>Privy Council s<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add>al appoint to <del type="strikethrough">see</del> see the trial performed &amp; report the <lb xml:id="l15"/>event to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice>. And at that same time any other parcel or 
        <lb xml:id="l16"/>p<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>rcels of copper moneys old or new may be tried there before 
        <lb xml:id="l17"/>the same persons &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">the</add> weight &amp; value ascertained &amp; compared <lb xml:id="l18"/>with the value of the copper moneys now coyned at <choice><sic>Bistol</sic><corr>Bristol</corr></choice> &amp; the <lb xml:id="l19"/><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>rial reported to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice>.</p>
        
        <p xml:id="par4">But <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">if</add> your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> had rather that the copper Pix be tried 
            <lb xml:id="l20"/>at Bristoll, I will look out for a man to do it &amp; treat with him 
            <lb xml:id="l21"/>&amp; see him instructed &amp; furnished with necessaries with all conveni<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l22"/>ent speed.</p>
