<p xml:id="par4">In obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order of Reference on <lb xml:id="l2"/>the Proposals for importing barrs of fine copper into his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l3"/>Mint for coyning copper money out of them, We humbly <lb xml:id="l4"/>represent that upon giving the Proposers a meeting, We find <lb xml:id="l5"/>that the Mint may be supplied with such barrs at nineteen <lb xml:id="l6"/>pence per pound weight Averdupois or a little under, taking <del type="strikethrough">bac</del> <lb xml:id="l7"/>back the scissel at the same price but scarce under eighteen <lb xml:id="l8"/>pence. The Master &amp; Worker is willing to undertake the <lb xml:id="l9"/>coynage out of such barrs at three pence farthing per pound <lb xml:id="l10"/>weight &amp; to defray all incident charges of assaying weighing <lb xml:id="l11"/>coynage &amp; putting off after a Mint is set up. And so a pound <lb xml:id="l12"/>weight of Copper with the coinage will cost about 21<formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>4</mn></mfrac></math></formula><tei:hi xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" rend="superscript">d</tei:hi> or 22<tei:formula xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>4</mn></mfrac></math></tei:formula> <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l13"/>&amp; may be cut into 23 or 24<tei:hi xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" rend="superscript"><tei:del type="cancelled">d</tei:del></tei:hi> pence to answer all other <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l14"/>charges. If there be a <tei:del xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="over"><tei:gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></tei:del><tei:add xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" place="over" indicator="no">K</tei:add>ing's Clerk, he &amp; the Auditor of this <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l15"/>Mint may be paid what your <tei:choice xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"><tei:abbr>Lord<tei:hi rend="superscript">ps</tei:hi></tei:abbr><tei:expan>Lordships</tei:expan></tei:choice> shall order out of the pro<tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="hyphenated" xml:id="l16"/>fits of the coinage. The Master &amp; Worker proposes to pay half <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l17"/>the price of the Copper upon the importation thereof.</p>
    
<tei:p xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="par5">When by publick notice we gave the Proposers a meeting <tei:lb xml:id="l18"/>some of them upon hearing how the copper was to be sized <tei:lb xml:id="l19"/>&amp; assayed, withdrew. M<tei:hi rend="superscript">r</tei:hi> Neale &amp; Partners were in the <tei:lb xml:id="l20"/>country &amp; are not yet returned to town. M<tei:hi rend="superscript">r</tei:hi> Essington <tei:lb xml:id="l21"/>demanded 19<tei:hi rend="superscript">d</tei:hi> per pound weight for the best copper &amp; 18<tei:hi rend="superscript">d</tei:hi> for <tei:lb xml:id="l22"/>a coarser sort. M<tei:hi rend="superscript">r</tei:hi> Iones demanded 18<tei:formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>2</mn></mfrac></math></tei:formula><tei:hi rend="superscript">d</tei:hi> for the best <tei:lb xml:id="l23"/>copper. M<tei:hi rend="superscript">r</tei:hi> Hind demanded <tei:del type="over"><tei:gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="2"/></tei:del><tei:add place="over" indicator="no">18</tei:add><tei:hi rend="superscript">d</tei:hi>. The copper he shewed us <tei:lb xml:id="l24"/>was very good &amp; bore the <tei:choice><tei:sic>Essay</tei:sic><tei:corr>Assay</tei:corr></tei:choice>, &amp; this morning he has <tei:lb xml:id="l25"/>delivered in some <tei:del type="over">b</tei:del><tei:add place="over" indicator="no">B</tei:add>arrs to be further examined. We are best <tei:lb xml:id="l26"/>satisfied with his Proposal, but have not yet had time to <tei:lb xml:id="l27"/>examin his barrs. M<tei:hi rend="superscript">r</tei:hi> Parker demands the same price, but <tei:lb xml:id="l28"/>we have not yet seen his workmanship.</tei:p>
    
<tei:p xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="par6">If at any time it be thought fit to change the Reverse <tei:lb xml:id="l29"/>of the money it may be done by a Signe Manual, paying the <tei:lb xml:id="l30"/>Graver for a new Puncheon</tei:p>
