    <p rend="right" xml:id="par2"><hi rend="small">The humble Memorial of Will<hi rend="superscript">m</hi>. Wood &amp; Partners</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3"><hi rend="small">Represents,</hi></p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4"><hi rend="small">That the said W<hi rend="superscript">m</hi>. Wood was one of the Proposers for furnishing Copper for the <lb xml:id="l1"/>Coinage of Half pence &amp; Farthings, &amp; offer'd to serve at near five Pounds per Ton <lb xml:id="l2"/>cheaper than others.</hi></p>
 
    <p xml:id="par5"><hi rend="small">Nevertheless another is employ'd for the present to furnish about the quantity <lb xml:id="l3"/>of 30 Tons for Commencing the Coinage. After which Service <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton <lb xml:id="l4"/>has declar'd the matter shall be again laid before your <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">pps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> for our appointing <lb xml:id="l5"/>who shall furnish the rest of the Copper for this Service.</hi></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par6"><hi rend="small"><choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac has already had a Specimen of fine roll'd Copper from the said <lb xml:id="l6"/>Will<hi rend="superscript">m</hi>. Wood, &amp; approv'd thereof, &amp; told him he was likely to furnish the rest of the <lb xml:id="l7"/>Copper after the 30 Tons agreed for.</hi></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par7"><hi rend="small">But whereas the Copper fit for this use is not the Common Sort, but by <lb xml:id="l8"/>reason of its fineness must be prepar'd on purpose, which will take up much time <lb xml:id="l9"/>&amp; expence.</hi></p>
    
    <p rend="right" xml:id="par8"><hi rend="small">Your Memorialist therefore most humbly prays your <lb xml:id="l10"/><choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">pps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> will be pleas'd to grant him your <choice><abbr>Warr<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Warrant</expan></choice> for  <lb xml:id="l11"/>furnishing at 17<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.<formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>2</mn></mfrac></math></formula> per pound what Copper shall be <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l12"/>wanting over &amp; above the 30 Tons agreed for at 18<tei:hi xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" rend="superscript">d</tei:hi>. <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l13"/>per pound, that he may be at a Certainty, &amp; made  <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l14"/>such Provision of fine Metall that there may be no <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l15"/>Stop in the Coinage.</hi> <tei:space xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
