By the Bills of parcells several of wchwhich I have seen the copper hitherto imported cost about 1312 prper lwtpound weight & some about almost 14d131334d or 14d. The Blaanks of late being hardned round the edges by the cutter & not nealed after the cutting, are apt to crack in the stam one the edges in stamping but if yethe copper be not sufficiently fine, & this cracking has been promoted by two parcells of copper bought of Mr Briggs: but these cracks are small & by making the copper a very little finer may be prevented.

And then the coinage may go on so thatprovided the barrs imported bee smooth & cleane & the blanks beare the Press wthwithout stamping cracking the Moneyers pick out the brockage. And in the mean time if any other Proposalls be made for coining money by an higher assay, wchwhich the Proposer will abide by, the Proposalls may be compared by your LopsLordships wthwith wtwhat Appleby & Mr Hintes will undertake. And that the Moneyers be commanded to pick out all the brockage.
