<p xml:id="par3">In obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Reference of 23 Novemb<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. last <lb xml:id="l2"/>we have enquired into the case of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Anthony Redhead late <lb xml:id="l3"/>Master &amp; Worker of the Mint in Norwich and find it truly <lb xml:id="l4"/>stated in the annexed paper on <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> the said Reference is endorsed<supplied reason="copy">.</supplied> <lb xml:id="l5"/>And <del type="over"><gap reason="over"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">where</add>as M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead in d<del type="over"><unclear reason="over" cert="low">a</unclear><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">is</add>charge of a debt of 2497<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> 16<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. 3<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> <lb xml:id="l6"/>owing to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Leonard Blof<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ie</add>ld a Receiver of Land Taxes <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">in Norfolk</add> produces <lb xml:id="l7"/>three Receipts for 2500<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> paid out of that Mint to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Blofields <lb xml:id="l8"/>Order, We find that these three Receipts are in the form of private <lb xml:id="l9"/>Receipts so that they cannot be allowed by an Auditor <del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">as</add> Vouchers <lb xml:id="l10"/>in M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redheads Accompts. If any thing be due upon them it is to <lb xml:id="l11"/>be recovered in a Court of Iustice by M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead or by him or <lb xml:id="l12"/>them who shall answer M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead's debts to her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice>. But <lb xml:id="l13"/>upon examining the matter we are humbly of opinion for the <lb xml:id="l14"/>reasons specially reported in <del type="strikethrough">the</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">another</add> annexed paper that <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">the money paid upon</add> those <del type="cancelled">Receipt</del> <lb xml:id="l15"/>Receipts ha<del type="over"><unclear reason="over" cert="medium">ve</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">th</add> been accounted for <del type="strikethrough">&amp; ought to be</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; endorsed upon the printed Mint Tickets &amp; that the Receipts are</add> <add place="infralinear" indicator="no">thereby voyd &amp;</add> should have been <lb xml:id="l16"/>cancelled &amp; M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">himself</add> insists not peremptorily on them but submits <lb xml:id="l17"/>them to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> wisdome.</p>
    
<p xml:id="par4">We humbly conceive therefore that for bringing these matters <lb xml:id="l18"/>to an issue the Accompts of the Country Mints should be passed <lb xml:id="l19"/>without regard to these Receipts &amp; M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Neale set insuper &amp; <lb xml:id="l20"/>then M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Neales Administratix or Security charged with the <lb xml:id="l21"/>debt. For M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead seems poor &amp; unable to make satisfactio<supplied reason="foxed">n</supplied> <lb xml:id="l22"/>&amp; not unfit to be set at liberty so soon as it may be done by the <lb xml:id="l23"/>consent of all parties concerned.</p>
    
<p xml:id="par5">We further lay before <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> that M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead at the <lb xml:id="l24"/>conclusion of the Mint was indebted to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Chaplyn a Receiver of <lb xml:id="l25"/>Land Taxes for 2573<hi rend="superscript">oz</hi> 5<hi rend="superscript">dwt</hi> of hammered money at 5<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>oz</abbr><expan>ounce</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l26"/>the summ of 643<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. 6<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. 3<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> &amp; that in M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Chaplyn's <choice><abbr>Acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Account</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is <lb xml:id="l27"/>past &amp; declared &amp; a Quietus obtained M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Redhead is set insuper <lb xml:id="l28"/>for this debt at 5<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> 8<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>oz</abbr><expan>ounce</expan></choice> whereas M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Neale should have <lb xml:id="l29"/>been set insuper &amp; that only at 5<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> per <choice><abbr>oz</abbr><expan>ounce</expan></choice>.</p>
