In obedience to your LordppsLordshipps Order of Reference of Iune 16°: last Vpon the Memoriall of ye.the Wardn.en of his Majties.Majesties Mint Concerning a Clerk to be allowed him for assisting him in ye.the prosecucoution of Clippers & Counterfeiters of ye.the Coine And concerning ye.the Moneys to beare ye.the Charges of such prosecutions And ye.the method of accounting for ye.the same Wee humbly reprsepresent to yor.your Lordppshipps That ye.the late Wardns.ens have been allow'd such a Clerk And have been supply'd with money's partly by a privy Seale Impowering them to seize the Forfeited Estates of Convicted Criminalls And partly out of ye.the Civill List Money Vntill an allowance ofnot Exceeding £400: ꝑper AnnAnnum Made out of ye.the Coinage Money by Act of Parliamt.ent for Carrying on this Service.

Wee are therefore humbly of Opinion That ye.the Warden of ye.the Mint Doe find out a fitt person to attend him as Clerk & Sollr.Sollicitor to draw up Informations & Warrts.Warrants And Enter them into Books And attend prosecutions at ye.the Old Bailey & Assizes And that this Officer be allow'd a Sallery of £60: ꝑper AnnAnnum as formerly And that upon being sent into ye.the Country to apprrehend and prosecute Offendrs.ers Hee be further allow'd 15s: ꝑper day Travelling Charges for himselfe & his horse And such other persons as shall be sent upon ye.the like services Be allow'd for themselves & their Horses Such Travelling Charges as ye.the Wardn.en shall allow of Not exceeding 10s: ꝑper day to ye.the two principall of them And 8s: ꝑper day to ye.the rest And that in lieu of Pocktet Expences Coach hire Fees of Courts Charges of Wittnesses And such other incident Expences as cannot be ascertained by good Vouchrs.ers or would perplex the Accounts There be Allow'd for ev'ry House Searcht in London ye.the sum̄mm of 10s: And in the Country ye.the sumum of 25s: To be equally divided between ye.the persons and for ev'ry person apprhprehended & brought before a Iustice of Peace And Comitted to prison in London the sumumm of 10s: And in ye.the Country the sumumm of 25s: To be equally divided between ye.the persons who Search or aprhepprehend & carry to prison And for ev'ry person Indicted & Tryed in London ye.the sumumm of 50s: And in ye.the Country ye.the sumumm of £4: To him or them who by ye.the Wardn's.en's ordr.er shall sollicitt & mannage ye.the prosecution Besides Councellrs.ours Fees provided there be soe many Witnesses as may justify the bringing ye.the person accus'd to a Tryall.

Wee are also humbly of opinion That ye.the Master & Worker of ye.the Mint be impower'd by a Sign Manual to pay the Sallery of ye.the sd.said Clerk or Sollr.icitor Quarterly as it shall become due And to advance to him such sumeummes of Money from time to time as by allowance or ordr.er undr.er ye.the Warden's hand hee the sd.said Sollr.icitor shall desire or demand for Carrying on ye.the Prosecutions Not exceeding in ye.the Whole £200 ꝑper AnnAnnum And to pay what shall be further due to ye.the sd.said Sollr.icitor upon his accounts duely stated and allow'd And that ye.the Auditors of ye.the Mint be directed & requir'd in ye.the sd.said Signe Manuall To allow in ye.the Accounts of ye.the Master & Worker All ye.the sd.said paymts.ments Not exceeding in the whole the sumumm of £400 ꝑper AnnAnnum allow'd by Act of Parliamt.ent for this service.

And wee are further humbly of opinion that ye.the sd. Sollr.Sollicitor doe at ye.the end of every halfe yeare Lay before ye.the Master & Comptrollr.er of ye.the Mint An Account of ye.the Services perform'd by him or his assistants Vpon wch.which any Money's be due Or have been pd.paid to him or them With a Certificate from the Wardn.en in Writeing That those Services were done by his oOrdr.er And alsoe a Bill or Bills for all Money's due or pd.paid to him or others for these services According to ye.the Allowances abovemencotioned Together with Rects.Receipts for Money pd.paid to others And also a Bill or Bills of Money's paid for Councellor's Fees Extraordinary Habeas Corpus's Lord Chiefe Iustices Warrts.Warrants &c And that he incert nothing into those Bills without Rects.Receipts or other good Vouchrs.ers for ye.the same Nothing for Country people assisting in searching Houses and in apprhrehending & Carrying to prison persons suspected or Accus'd And that ye.the Master & Workr.er & the Comptrollr.er Doe Examine & Signe those Bills as Vouchr.ers to ye.the Annuall Accots.Accounts of ye.the sd.said Sollr.Sollicitor And that at the end of ev'ry yeare The sd.said Sollr.Sollicitor doe lay his account for that year first before the Wardn.en of ye.the Mint to be Examin'd & Sign'd And then before the Ld.Lord High Treasurer Or Lds.Lords Comissionrs.ers of the Treasury for their approbaconation Or direction how ye.the same shall be Auditted stated Allow'd & discharg'd.

And if ye.the accountt.accountant Craves any augmentation of any Allowance for Services Not within ye.the Rules abovemenctioned That the same be laid before the Ld.Lord High Treasurer or Lds.Lords Comissionrs.ers of ye.the Treasury Att the end of his account.
