<p rend="right" xml:id="par2">The humble Petition of Tho: Dearsly <lb xml:id="l2"/>Citizen and Watchmaker of London.</p>
    
<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3"><hi rend="large">Most humbly Sheweth.</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
    
<p rend="indent5" xml:id="par4">That your Petitioner gave Information <lb xml:id="l3"/>to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Delafaye of divers persons having illegal Presses, <lb xml:id="l4"/>such as that which one Mansell had, who for having <lb xml:id="l5"/>the same in his Custody was at the last <unclear reason="hand" cert="medium">assizes</unclear> at <lb xml:id="l6"/>Croydon convicted of High Treason, upon which the said <lb xml:id="l7"/>Persons &amp; their Presses were seized, which in the Opinion <lb xml:id="l8"/>of the proper officers of the Mint being capable of being <lb xml:id="l9"/>made use of in counterfeiting the Current Coyne; the <lb xml:id="l10"/>persons so seized are now under Prosecution.</p>
<p rend="indent5" xml:id="par5">That your Petitioner in this discovery expended a <lb xml:id="l11"/>great deal of his time and substance and has gained so <lb xml:id="l12"/>much ill will, that he is a considerable sufferer in his <lb xml:id="l13"/>Trade &amp; way of business &amp; must inevitably perish unless <lb xml:id="l14"/>relieved by your Lordships.</p>

<p rend="right" xml:id="par6">He humbly prays that your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">pps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/>will take his case into Consideration <lb xml:id="l16"/>&amp; order him such Recompence for this <lb xml:id="l17"/>his service &amp; for his trouble &amp; charge <lb xml:id="l18"/>as your <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">ps.</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> in your goodness and <lb xml:id="l19"/>wisdom shall think proper.</p>
<p rend="right" xml:id="par7">And <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>pet<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>petitioner</expan></choice> will ever pray.</p>
    
<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8"><handShift new="#cd" scribe="Charles_Delafaye"/>I do certify that in Oct<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. last the <choice><abbr>Pet<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice>  <lb xml:id="l20"/>did bring me Informations against <lb xml:id="l21"/>several Persons for keeping unlawfull  <lb xml:id="l22"/>Presses, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> Information I transmitted <lb xml:id="l23"/>to the Deputy Warden of the Mint, &amp; <lb xml:id="l24"/>that I am credibly informed the said <lb xml:id="l25"/>persons are now under prosecuition for <lb xml:id="l26"/>the same.
