                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="large">To the Most <choice><abbr>Hon<hi rend="superscript">ble</hi></abbr><expan>Honourable</expan></choice> the Earl of Oxford <lb xml:id="l1"/>&amp; Earl Mortimer Lord High Treasurer of Great <lb xml:id="l2"/>Britain</hi></p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">May it please your Lordship <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par3">In Obedience to your Lordships order of reference <lb xml:id="l3"/>upon the Bills of m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Rob<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. Weddel for prosecuting Coyners <lb xml:id="l4"/>during the spac<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">a</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> of Nineteen Months ending last Christmas was <lb xml:id="l5"/>a Twelve Month, and upon the Memorial of the Warden of the <lb xml:id="l6"/>Mint concerning the same, wee have considered the Services alledged <lb xml:id="l7"/>to be done &amp; Examined the reasonableness of the said Bills, &amp; humbly <lb xml:id="l8"/>Represent to your <choice><abbr>Lordsp:</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> that the services so farr as we can <lb xml:id="l9"/>find were done, &amp; allowing to m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddel for Travelling Charging <lb xml:id="l10"/>6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> per Mile, 2<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi>: per post stage &amp; 15<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi>: per day abroad, as was setled <lb xml:id="l11"/>by the late Lord Treasurer &amp; allowed <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">alsoe</add> by the late Lords <choice><abbr>Commiss<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l12"/>of the Treasury, &amp; to the Men who assisted him in apprehending <lb xml:id="l13"/>&amp; prosecuting Criminalls 6<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi>. 6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> per day for each man &amp; Horse <lb xml:id="l14"/>during their Iourneys: the Travel<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">i</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">l</add>ing charges amount unto <lb xml:id="l15"/>£186. 12. 6. <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> with m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddels salary, a bill of m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Fords, the <lb xml:id="l16"/>Fees of receiving the Money allowed upon the last account, <lb xml:id="l17"/>&amp; the Charges of a Law suite <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> a Coyner upon the pricy seal, <lb xml:id="l18"/>make up the sume of 337<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>: 1<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi>: 6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>, which wee humbly think <lb xml:id="l19"/>reasonable to be allowed.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">That there are other Charges <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> admitt of no vouchers <lb xml:id="l20"/>or strickt Examination, whereof the Fees of Councell &amp; other <lb xml:id="l21"/>court charges upon the Tryalls of person<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add> (Viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> for <choice><abbr>Indictm<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi>:</abbr><expan>Indictments</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l22"/>swearing of Wittnesses attending with Records &amp;c<hi rend="superscript">a</hi>) amount <lb xml:id="l23"/>unto about £62: 10, And these charges being necessary for the <lb xml:id="l24"/>carrying on the prosecutions we are humbly of opinion <lb xml:id="l25"/>that the Prosecutors account of them, where nothing appears <lb xml:id="l26"/>False or unreasonable should be accepted</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><hi rend="larger">A</hi>nd the Maintenance of Wittnesses during their <lb xml:id="l27"/>attendance on Courts of Iustice, &amp; Pocket Expences in <lb xml:id="l28"/>apprehending and Examining people accused and in <lb xml:id="l29"/>attending on Iudges and Iustices of the Peace and paying <lb xml:id="l30"/>for their Warrants and for stationary ware and Post <lb xml:id="l31"/>Letters, amount further to about 68<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">But Considering that about one half of the Money <lb xml:id="l32"/>set down in m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddels account hath been advanced by <lb xml:id="l33"/>him without Intrest for Carrying on the Prosecutions, <lb xml:id="l34"/>and that the Charges of receiving the Money due upon <lb xml:id="l35"/>this account are not sett down therein, both which <lb xml:id="l36"/>may amount to above 40<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>, and that m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Weddel

                Was a very good Prosecutor, and if Prosecutors be discouragd <lb xml:id="l37"/>they may be Induced to Pay themselfes by taking mony <lb xml:id="l38"/>for favouring or protecting Coyners. wee are humbly of <lb xml:id="l39"/>opinion that the Bills of m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddel amounting in <lb xml:id="l40"/>the whole to 467<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>: 15: 2, be allowed.</p>
