                <p rend="indent15" xml:id="par8"><hi rend="larger">W</hi><hi rend="large">e</hi> whose Names are Subscribed ebing the principal Traders in the Woollen <lb xml:id="l1"/>Manufactury of this Town and Country adjacent, and drawing Bills for vast <choice><abbr>su<hi rend="overline">mes</hi></abbr><expan>summes</expan></choice> of money for the <lb xml:id="l2"/>said Manufactures, Crave leave humbly to represent to Your Lordship, That Moyders for some yeares <lb xml:id="l3"/>past have been Current with us in all payments at 28<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>.</abbr><expan>pieces</expan></choice> and at that price never refus'd to take them <lb xml:id="l4"/>on our Bills of Exchange from any of Her Majesties Collectors, whether they be of the Taxes, Excise, Customes <unclear reason="hand">+r</unclear> <lb xml:id="l5"/>And we have promised always to supply them with good Bills of Exchange for what Moyders they shall receive <lb xml:id="l6"/>for her Majesties Revenue at the above said price. <hi rend="large">Notwithstanding</hi> which severall of the Collectors of the Taxes <lb xml:id="l7"/>Customes and Excise or Agents under them for some private Interest <del type="cancelled">for</del> to themselves design'd have lately <lb xml:id="l8"/>attempted and are attempting to Lower the price of Moyders to 27/6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>.</abbr><expan>pieces</expan></choice>, which <add place="inline" indicator="no">(</add>if Effected<add place="inline" indicator="no">)</add> would prove so <lb xml:id="l9"/>very discouraging to the Trade in these parts that the poor could not be Imployed, for the Moyders would soon <lb xml:id="l10"/>then be sent hence to London, as the Guineas in great measure have already been, so consequently not halfe <lb xml:id="l11"/>Money enough left in these parts to Carry on our Trade, <hi rend="large">Wherefore</hi> as we are willing <add place="inline" indicator="no">(</add>for the Encouragement of <lb xml:id="l12"/>Trade and Employment of the poor<add place="inline" indicator="no">)</add> at all time to supply the Collectors with good Bills of Exchange for what <lb xml:id="l13"/>Moyders they shall receive at 28<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>.</abbr><expan>pieces</expan></choice> so we hope and humbly pray That your Lordship will give orders <lb xml:id="l14"/>that the severall Collectors in these parts do not refuse any in the said price And if they can Object against the <lb xml:id="l15"/>Bills of us or any of us the Subscribers they may refuse them and the rest will supply them.</p>
