In Obedience to your LordpsLordships Order of Reference that I should report my opinion upon the Petition of Mr William Wood for a Warrant to furnish the Mint with fine copper in barrs duly sized at 1712d per Lwtpound weight after the 30 Tunns agreed for at 18d per Lwtpound weight to be coined, I humbly represent that if Mr Wood will furnish the Mint with such copper, prepared by the battering Mills, as the specimen was which I had of him, I am ready to receive a Tonn or two every Month at that price till next eMichaelmas, or longer if there be occasion. But if he intends to prepare it some other way, of which he has not yet given me a specimen I desire that a specimen of such work as he intends to furnish me with, may be sent into the Mint to be assayed before he begins to bring in a great quantity.
