The Lords Commrs:Commissioners of his Matys:Majestys TrearyTreasury desire You to prepare & lay before their LordpsLordships a State of the Gold & Silver Coins of this Kingdom both as to their Weight & Fineness with the Difference in Value between a Guinea & 21sh: & 6d in Silver together with Your Observations & Opinion And their LordpsLordships being Informed yt.that great Quantities of Silver Coins are melted by sevl:several ꝑpersons for their private Lucre contrary to Law dto direct You to propose what Method you think will be most Effectual for preventing & discouraging that evil practice I am &c 12 Augt. 1717
