                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="larger"><hi rend="bold">Anne</hi></hi> by the Grace of God of England Scotland, france &amp; Ireland <lb xml:id="l4"/>Queen defender of the Faith &amp;c. <hi rend="large">To All</hi>  to whom these presents shall come <lb xml:id="l5"/>greeting. <hi rend="large">Know</hi> ye that wee  for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto <lb xml:id="l6"/>moving  of our special grace, certain Knowledge and meer motion  <hi rend="large">have</hi> given <lb xml:id="l7"/>and Granted, and by these presents do give and  grant unto our Trusty &amp; well beloved <lb xml:id="l8"/>subject <hi rend="large">Isaac Newton</hi> Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. the Office of Master and Worker of all our Moneys b<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>th  <lb xml:id="l9"/>Gold and Silver within our Mint in our Tower of London  and elsewhere in our <lb xml:id="l10"/>Kingdom of England, together with the fee or yearly pen<choice><orig>t</orig><reg>s</reg></choice>ion of five hundred <lb xml:id="l11"/>pounds to be quarterly paid to him from the 25<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. day of March now last past <lb xml:id="l12"/>by even and equal portions out of such money as by any Act or Acts of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l13"/>already made for encouraging of coinage are allowed to be issued  yearly out of <lb xml:id="l14"/>our Exchequer for the fees and sallaries of the Officers of the Mint or Mints, <lb xml:id="l15"/>and towards the providing  maintaining and repairing the houses, offices, and <lb xml:id="l16"/>buildings and other uses in the said Act or Acts <supplied reason="faded">or</supplied> any of them  mentioned for <lb xml:id="l17"/>so long time as the same shall be and continue  in force, and after the said Act <lb xml:id="l18"/>or Acts of Parliament shall  cease and be voyd, then the said fee or yearly pen<del type="over">t</del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>ion to be  <lb xml:id="l19"/>paid <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">out</add> of such other Moneys, and in such other Manner as  shall by any Act or Acts <lb xml:id="l20"/>of Parliament hereafter to be made  be appointed or allowed to be issued out for <lb xml:id="l21"/>the fees or  sallaries of the Officers of the Mint or Mints and in  default of any <lb xml:id="l22"/>such Allowance or <choice><abbr>appointem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>appointement</expan></choice> to be hereafter made by Parliament, and during <lb xml:id="l23"/>such time or times as there  shall hereafter happen to be no allowance or <choice><abbr>appointem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>appointement</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l24"/>made  by Authority of Parliament, the said fee or yearly pen<choice><orig>t</orig><reg>s</reg></choice>ion  of five hundred <lb xml:id="l25"/>pounds sterling shall be paid unto the said  Isaac Newton out of our <choice><sic>Seignorage</sic><corr>Seigniorage</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l26"/>or allowance for <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">coy</add>nage  of Gold &amp; Silver Moneys, or other our proffits of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint.  <lb xml:id="l27"/><hi rend="large">And Know</hi> yee also that wee <choice><orig>F</orig><reg>f</reg></choice>or the considerations aforesaid <hi rend="large">have</hi> given and <lb xml:id="l28"/>granted and by these presents do give and grant  unto the said Isaac Newton all <lb xml:id="l29"/>edifices, buildings, gardens,  and other fees allowances, proffitts, priviledges <lb xml:id="l30"/>franchises and Immunities belonging to the aforesaid Office, <hi rend="large">To Have</hi> and to <lb xml:id="l31"/>hold the said Office of Master and Worker unto the said  Isaac Newton <add place="inline" indicator="no">(</add>to be <lb xml:id="l32"/>exercised by himself or his sufficient deputy or deputies for whom he will answer<add place="inline" indicator="no">)</add> <lb xml:id="l33"/>and also the  said fee or yearly pen<choice><orig>t</orig><reg>s</reg></choice>ion of five hundred pounds sterling  together <lb xml:id="l34"/>with the said houses, Edifices, buildings, gardens, and  other fees, allowances, <lb xml:id="l35"/>proffits, advantages, privi<del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">l</add>edges franchises liberties and immunities <hi rend="large">for <lb xml:id="l36"/>and during Our pleasure</hi> in as full and ample manner to all Intents <lb xml:id="l37"/>and  purposes as the said Isaac Newton or Thomas Neale Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. deceased or any others <lb xml:id="l38"/>heretofore holding the said office have had held and enjoyed, or ought  to have had <lb xml:id="l39"/>held and enjoyed the same. <hi rend="large">Provided</hi> always  and under this condition and <lb xml:id="l40"/>our will and pleasure is that the  said Isaac Newton after he is in possession of <lb xml:id="l41"/>the said Office by virtue of these presents shall within two Months next after <lb xml:id="l42"/>signification of our pleasure in that behalf by the high Treasurer or <choice><abbr>Commiss<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>.</abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l43"/>of the Treasury for the time being make and execute on his part  such Indenture <lb xml:id="l44"/>and agreement for and concerning the making  of the several sorts of money of <lb xml:id="l45"/>Gold and Silver, and for  payment of the several Officers of the Mint, and other  <lb xml:id="l46"/>matters and things relating thereunto and to the execution  of the said Office, as were <lb xml:id="l47"/>formerly made, with alterations  and additions if any shall be thought fitt <lb xml:id="l48"/>and directed by  us for the better management and carrying on of that  service. <lb xml:id="l49"/><hi rend="large">Lastly</hi> we have revoked and determined and by these presents do revoke and <lb xml:id="l50"/>determine certain Letter Pattents under the great seale of England bearing <lb xml:id="l51"/>date the third day of feb<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. in the Eleventh year of the Reign of our Late <lb xml:id="l52"/>Dear Brother King William the third, whereby the said Office was granted <lb xml:id="l53"/>to the said Isaac Newton, and every clause, article, and thing therein <lb xml:id="l54"/>contained. <hi rend="large">In Wittnesse</hi> whereof we have caused these our letters to be <lb xml:id="l55"/>made patents, <hi rend="large">Witnesse</hi> oursel<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">fe</add> at  Westminster the Eleaventh day of <lb xml:id="l56"/>Iune in the first year of our Reign</p>
