                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2"><hi rend="large">May it Please Your Lordship</hi></p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">We whose Names are subscribed being the principal traders in the Woollen Manufactury <lb xml:id="l1"/>of this Town and Country adjacent, and drawing Bills for Vast Summs of Money for the said <lb xml:id="l2"/>Manufacturers, crave leave humbly to represent to your Lordship, that Moydors for some <lb xml:id="l3"/>years past have been Currant with us in all payments at 28<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> each and at that price <lb xml:id="l4"/>never refused to take them on our Bills of Exchange from any of Her Majestys Collectors <lb xml:id="l5"/>whether they be of the Taxes, Excise Customs &amp;c. And we have promised allways to supply <lb xml:id="l6"/>them with good Bills of Exchange for what Moydors they shall receive for her Majestys <lb xml:id="l7"/>Revenue at the above said price. Notwithstanding which severall of the Collectors of the <lb xml:id="l8"/>Taxes, Customs and Excise or Agents under them for some private Interest to themselves <lb xml:id="l9"/>design'd have lately attempted and are attempting to lower the price of Moydors to <lb xml:id="l10"/>27<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>: 6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> each, which if Effected would prove so very discouraging to the Trade in these parts <lb xml:id="l11"/>that the poor could not be Employed for the Moyders would soon then be sent hence to <lb xml:id="l12"/>London as the Guineas in great measure have already been, so consequently not half <lb xml:id="l13"/>Money enough left in these parts to Carry on our Trade, Wherefore as we are willing <lb xml:id="l14"/>for the Encouragement of trade and Employment of the poor at all times to supply <lb xml:id="l15"/>the Collectors with good Bills of Exchange for what Moydors they shall receive at 28<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. <lb xml:id="l16"/>each, so we hope and humbly pray that your Lordship will give Orders of that the several <lb xml:id="l17"/>collectors in these parts do not refuse any in the said price And if they can object <lb xml:id="l18"/>against the Bills of us, or any of us the subscribers they may refuse them and the <lb xml:id="l19"/>rest will supply them.</p>
