The Officer of Graver of the Mint being constituted by a Warrt.Warrant under the Broad Seal dated yethe 7th. of April in yethe 4th. year of Her Majties.Majesties Reign whereby for yethe Advantage & safety of yethe Mint with respect to yethe Coin, IJohn Croker, is appointed head Graver wth.with a Salary of 200£ ꝑper annannum. & Saml Bull & Gabriel Le Clerk Gent. were made Assistants to yethe Chiefe Graver Each wth.with a Salary of 80£ ꝑper annannum. & upon yethe voidance of either of yethe said Assistants places the same was to be filled up wth.with such Probationer or Apprentice as should be presented to Her Majtie.Majestie by the Warden, Master & Worker & Compter.Comptroller of yethe Mint by Warrt.Warrant under Her Royal Signe manual: we humbly represent to your Lordsp.Lordship that yethe place of the said Gabriel Le Clerk became Void about three Years ago, & thereupon, one Francis Beresford hath been learning about two years & halfe under the said Mr. Croker to design in order to Learn the art of Graving & and is approved by yethe sd.said Mr. Croker as wel-quallified in point of Genius & industry to make a good Workman for wchwhich end We humbly pray yoryour Lordsop.Lordship that out of yethe sd.said 80£ ꝑper annannum an allowance may be settled upon yethe sd.said Francis Beresford for binding him an Apprentice to yethe sd.said Mr. Croker for six years & We humbly propose an allowance of 35 ꝑper annannum
