                <p xml:id="par2"><hi rend="large">Whereas</hi> Our late Royal Sister Queen Anne for the better <lb xml:id="l1"/>Exercise of the Art of Graving, and that the Gravers of Her Mint might not <lb xml:id="l2"/>lose the skill they had acquired, the Improvement of which would be the best <lb xml:id="l3"/>security of the Coine of Her Kingdome Did by Warrant under Her Royal Sign <lb xml:id="l4"/>Mannual bearing date the second day of November 1706 Impower the <lb xml:id="l5"/>Master and Worker of Her Mint for the time being to give leave to the said <lb xml:id="l6"/>Gravers or any of them to make and sell such Medalls of Fine Gold and fine <lb xml:id="l7"/>silver as did not relate to state affairs And that upon such Medals as <choice><sic>shoud</sic><corr>should</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l8"/>be made for rewarding persons for their good services to Impress the service <lb xml:id="l9"/>for which the said Medalls are given with the Date, And did thereby also <lb xml:id="l10"/>Impower, the Warden, Master and Worker, and Comptroller of Her Mint for the <lb xml:id="l11"/>time being to direct and Require the said Gravers and every of them to make <lb xml:id="l12"/>such other Medals of fine Gold, fine Silver and fine Copper with plaine <lb xml:id="l13"/>Historical Designs and Inscrip<choice><orig>ī</orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons in memory of great actions as <choice><sic>shoud</sic><corr>should</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l14"/>be approved by the said Warden, Master and Worker and Comptroller And to <lb xml:id="l15"/>make Embossements puncheons Dyes and other Instruments requisite <lb xml:id="l16"/>for Coining the same according to such orders as they or any of them <lb xml:id="l17"/>respectively should from time to time receive from the Master &amp; Worker <lb xml:id="l18"/>of the said Mint and not otherwise, which said Warrant being by the Demise <lb xml:id="l19"/>of Our said late Royal sister become void, the <choice><abbr>Com<hi rend="overline">mrs</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of our <choice><abbr>Trea<hi rend="overline">ry</hi></abbr><expan>Treasury</expan></choice> have <lb xml:id="l20"/>laid before Vs your Memorial desiring the same may be renewed, That <lb xml:id="l21"/>the Gravers may improve their hands in the manner aforesaid when the<supplied reason="damage">y</supplied> <lb xml:id="l22"/>are not employed about Our Coine; We taking the Premises into Our <lb xml:id="l23"/>Royal Consideration are Graciously pleased to Approve thereof, And <lb xml:id="l24"/>Accordingly Our Will and pleasure is And We do hereby Authorise and <lb xml:id="l25"/>Impower you the Master and Worker of Our Mint to give Liberty to the <lb xml:id="l26"/>said Gravers to make such Medals from time to time of fine Gold and <lb xml:id="l27"/>fine Silver for the Improvement of the Art of Graving as do not relate to <lb xml:id="l28"/>state Affairs taking care that such of them as shall be for the Rewarding <lb xml:id="l29"/>persons for good services to Vs have Impressed upon them the service for <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l30"/>such Medals were given with the Date; And Our further pleasure is <lb xml:id="l31"/>And Wee do hereby Impower you likewise to direct and Require the said <lb xml:id="l32"/>Gravers and every of them to make such other historical Medals in Memory <lb xml:id="l33"/>of great Actions as shall be approved of by the Warden Master &amp; Worker, &amp; <lb xml:id="l34"/>Comptroller of Our Mint aforesaid, And in order thereunto you the Master <lb xml:id="l35"/>and Worker of Our Mint are to direct the said Gravers to make such <lb xml:id="l36"/>Embossements puncheons Dyes and other Instruments as shall be <lb xml:id="l37"/>requisite for Coining the same.
