                <p xml:id="par3"><hi rend="larger">I</hi><hi rend="large">n</hi> obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">r</hi></hi>:</abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="overline">rd</hi><hi rend="superscript">ps</hi>:</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order to Vs of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> 18<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>: <choice><abbr>Ins<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Instant</expan></choice> to <lb xml:id="l2"/>Consider of that part of Her <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">aj</hi><hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">tes</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Order in Councill (a Copy whereof <lb xml:id="l3"/><anchor xml:id="n136-01"/><note place="marginLeft" target="#n136-01" hand="#un">The Officers <lb xml:id="l4"/>of the Mint <lb xml:id="l5"/>report to <lb xml:id="l6"/>Treasury <lb xml:id="l7"/>about weight <lb xml:id="l8"/>for Scotland <lb xml:id="l9"/>&amp; recommend <lb xml:id="l10"/>two new Piles to be <lb xml:id="l11"/>accurately <lb xml:id="l12"/>made <lb xml:id="l13"/>one of them <lb xml:id="l14"/>to be for <lb xml:id="l15"/>the Mint <lb xml:id="l16"/>in Scotland</note>We received therewith) which relates to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Continuing of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in <lb xml:id="l17"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same, and to report to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">r</hi></hi>:</abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="overline">rd</hi><hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> what We think necessary to be <lb xml:id="l18"/>done whereby <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same may be effectually put in <choice><abbr>exec<hi rend="overline">ucon</hi></abbr><expan>execution</expan></choice>, We humbly <lb xml:id="l19"/>represent to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">r</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice>.</p>
                
                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par4"><hi rend="bold">That</hi> whereas by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> said Act of Parliamen<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l20"/>Coine is to be of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same Standard &amp; value throughout the Vnited Kingdom <lb xml:id="l21"/>&amp; whereas also by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indenture of Her <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">a</hi>j<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint in England the <lb xml:id="l22"/>Warden with <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Consent &amp; agreement of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> General of <del type="cancelled">the</del> Her <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">aj</hi><hi rend="superscript">tis</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l23"/>Mint in Scotland is co<choice><orig>m̄</orig><reg>mm</reg></choice>anded to make or cause to be made two Piles of <lb xml:id="l24"/>English Weights one for Each Mint to be examined &amp; mark'd in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> p<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>re</reg></choice>sen<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">ce</hi></orig><reg>ce</reg></choice> <lb xml:id="l25"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Officers of Her  <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Mint in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Tower (which Clause We conceive <lb xml:id="l26"/>to have been Inserted upon an an<choice><orig>t</orig><reg>c</reg></choice>ient treaty between <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> two Nations) <lb xml:id="l27"/>made <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> utmost exactness &amp; examined &amp; marked &amp; one of them <lb xml:id="l28"/>delivered for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> use of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in Scotland. <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ccording to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> directions of <lb xml:id="l29"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> said Indenture.</p>
                
                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par5"><hi rend="large">A</hi>nd whereas by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same Inden<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>ure there are to be <lb xml:id="l30"/>six Indented Trial Pieces of Gold &amp; Six of Silver, four of them for <lb xml:id="l31"/>England &amp; two for Scotland We are humbly of opinion. That new <lb xml:id="l32"/>Indented Trial <choice><sic>Peices</sic><corr>Pieces</corr></choice> be made &amp; delivered for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Vses specify'd in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l33"/>said Indenture. And particularly that one Trial piece of Each metal <lb xml:id="l34"/>be delivered to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> proper Officer who shall Covenant <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> Her <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">aj</hi><hi rend="superscript">te</hi>:</abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice> to <lb xml:id="l35"/>make <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Monys in Scotland &amp; one of Each to be kept either in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l36"/>Treasury of Scotland according to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indenture of by an Officer of that <lb xml:id="l37"/>Mint who shall be appointed to examin, cheq &amp; prove <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> making of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l38"/>Monys there in Weight &amp; Fineness before delivery as is practised in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi>.</abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l39"/>Mint in England <hi rend="large">And</hi> we are further of Opinion that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Money <lb xml:id="l40"/>Coyned in both mints be of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same sizes &amp; stamps, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> some Letter or <lb xml:id="l41"/>either mark set upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Scotch money to distinguish it from <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Money <lb xml:id="l42"/>Coyned in England as was Lately practised in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Country Mints.</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par6">And whereas by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Act of Vnion <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint is to be continued in Scotland <lb xml:id="l43"/>under <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same Rules as <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in England, &amp; the present Officers of that <lb xml:id="l44"/>Mint continued subject to such regulations as Her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">tie</hi>:</abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice> &amp;c shall think fitt <lb xml:id="l45"/>We are humbly of opinion that in order thereunto so much of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indenture <lb xml:id="l46"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in England as containes <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Rules for Coynage be transmitted to <lb xml:id="l47"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in Scotland <hi rend="large">And</hi> for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> better <choice><sic>puting</sic><corr>putting</corr></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> saide Rules in practise <lb xml:id="l48"/>the Officers of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in Scotland may send any of theire Mint to see &amp; learn <lb xml:id="l49"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> practise of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Tower, &amp; if they desire it an Officer of <supplied reason="copy"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></supplied> <lb xml:id="l50"/>English Mint may be sent into Scotland to see <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> saide Rules fully putt in <lb xml:id="l51"/><choice><abbr>execu<hi rend="overline">con</hi></abbr><expan>execution</expan></choice> there. &amp; if they shall want any uses Ingines Dyes Puncheons sets <lb xml:id="l52"/>Weights for <choice><abbr>com<hi rend="overline">on</hi></abbr><expan>common</expan></choice> use or any thing else Necessary for Coynage they be p<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>ro</reg></choice>vided <lb xml:id="l53"/>for them in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">To</add>wer <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="2"/>All <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is most humbly submitted to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> great wisdom</p>
