In obedience to yor:your Lordps:Lordships Order to Vs of yethe 18th: Inst.Instant to Consider of that part of Her Majtes.Majesties Order in Councill (a Copy whereof The Officers of the Mint report to Treasury about weight for Scotland & recommend two new Piles to be accurately made one of them to be for the Mint in ScotlandWe received therewith) which relates to yethe Continuing of yethe Mint in yethe same, and to report to yor:your Lordp.Lordship what We think necessary to be done whereby yethe same may be effectually put in execuconexecution, We humbly represent to yor.your LordpLordship.

That whereas by yethe said Act of Parliament yethe Coine is to be of yethe same Standard & value throughout the Vnited Kingdom & whereas also by yethe Indenture of Her MajtiesMajesties Mint in England the Warden with yethe Consent & agreement of yethe General of the Her MajtisMajesties Mint in Scotland is com̄mmanded to make or cause to be made two Piles of English Weights one for Each Mint to be examined & mark'd in yethe prresencece of yethe Officers of Her Majts.Majestys Mint in yethe Tower (which Clause We conceive to have been Inserted upon an antcient treaty between yethe two Nations) made wthwith yethe utmost exactness & examined & marked & one of them delivered for yethe use of yethe Mint in Scotland. according to yethe directions of yethe said Indenture.

And whereas by yethe same Indenture there are to be six Indented Trial Pieces of Gold & Six of Silver, four of them for England & two for Scotland We are humbly of opinion. That new Indented Trial PeicesPieces be made & delivered for yethe Vses specify'd in yethe said Indenture. And particularly that one Trial piece of Each metal be delivered to yethe proper Officer who shall Covenant wthwith Her Majte:Majestie to make yethe Monys in Scotland & one of Each to be kept either in yethe Treasury of Scotland according to yethe Indenture of by an Officer of that Mint who shall be appointed to examin, cheq & prove yethe making of yethe Monys there in Weight & Fineness before delivery as is practised in ye.the Mint in England And we are further of Opinion that yethe Money Coyned in both mints be of yethe same sizes & stamps, wthwith some Letter or either mark set upon yethe Scotch money to distinguish it from yethe Money Coyned in England as was Lately practised in yethe Country Mints.

And whereas by yethe Act of Vnion yethe Mint is to be continued in Scotland under yethe same Rules as yethe Mint in England, & the present Officers of that Mint continued subject to such regulations as Her Majtie:Majestie &c shall think fitt We are humbly of opinion that in order thereunto so much of yethe Indenture of yethe Mint in England as containes yethe Rules for Coynage be transmitted to yethe Mint in Scotland And for yethe better putingputting yethe saide Rules in practise the Officers of yethe Mint in Scotland may send any of theire Mint to see & learn yethe practise of yethe Mint in yethe Tower, & if they desire it an Officer of yethe English Mint may be sent into Scotland to see yethe saide Rules fully putt in execuconexecution there. & if they shall want any uses Ingines Dyes Puncheons sets Weights for comoncommon use or any thing else Necessary for Coynage they be prrovided for them in yethe Tower All wchwhich is most humbly submitted to yoryour Lordps.Lordships great wisdom
