The Extra <lb xml:id="l9"/>charges allowed to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Monyers may amount to about three farthings <lb xml:id="l10"/><choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>£w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>pound weight</expan></choice> Troy. besides <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Charges of theire journey.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4"><hi rend="large">And</hi> We are further of Opinion that for preventing any stopp <lb xml:id="l11"/>to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coinage The <choice><abbr>R<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Right</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Hon<hi rend="superscript">ble</hi>.</abbr><expan>Honourable</expan></choice> the Lords <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">rs</hi></hi>.</abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of Her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">tes</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Tre<hi rend="overline">a</hi>s<hi rend="superscript">ry</hi>.</abbr><expan>Treasury</expan></choice> in <lb xml:id="l12"/>Scotland be desired to give Orders from time to time to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Co<hi rend="overline">llect<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</hi></abbr><expan>Collector</expan></choice> of <lb xml:id="l13"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Bullion to pay upon Account such su<choice><orig>m̄</orig><reg>mm</reg></choice>s of money to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> said <lb xml:id="l14"/>Master as they shall finde sufficient for defraying as well <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/><choice><abbr>extr<hi rend="overline">a</hi></abbr><expan>extraordinary</expan></choice> as <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> ordinary charges of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coinage, &amp; to direct <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Wardens <lb xml:id="l16"/>of that Mint to see that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Moneys so paid be apply'd by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Master <lb xml:id="l17"/>duly &amp; in just proportion to Every Mans service without any undue <lb xml:id="l18"/>preference or neglect.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><hi rend="large">As</hi> for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Melting of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> old Moneys into Ingotts We are <lb xml:id="l19"/>humbly of Opinion that a penny <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="overline">w</hi><hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>pound weight</expan></choice> Tory is a reasonable <lb xml:id="l20"/>allowance for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same it being <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> usual price which Merchants pay <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l21"/>Goldsmiths for Melting their silver into Ingotts in London. But this <lb xml:id="l22"/>Allowance cannot be paide out of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Bullion belonging to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint <lb xml:id="l23"/>because this Melting is no part of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coinage. Gold &amp; Silver <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>ught <lb xml:id="l24"/>to be in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Ingott when Imported into <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint, &amp; if it be not in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l25"/>Ingott the Owner causes it to be Melted into Ingotts by whome he <lb xml:id="l26"/>pleaseth &amp; at his owne charge &amp; bears <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Loss by Waste.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6"><hi rend="large">And</hi> this must be done before <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Master of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint can <lb xml:id="l27"/>receive it from him by Weight &amp; Assay upon his Note in Order to <lb xml:id="l28"/>Coine it, &amp; therefore is allways done at <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Owners charge, according <lb xml:id="l29"/>to this method<choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Importer did bear <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> whole Loss by this melting in <lb xml:id="l30"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> late Coynage of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> hammered Money in England, &amp; the same <lb xml:id="l31"/>should be now born by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Importers in Scotland &amp; placed among <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l32"/>Losses <choice><abbr>men<hi rend="overline">cond</hi></abbr><expan>mentiond</expan></choice> in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Act of Vnion in these words <hi rend="large">It is agreed <lb xml:id="l33"/>that in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> first place out of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>afo<hi rend="overline">res</hi><hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>aforesaid</expan></choice> sum (that is out of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l34"/>Equivalent) what <choice><abbr>Considera<hi rend="overline">con</hi></abbr><expan>Consideration</expan></choice> shall be foudn necessary <lb xml:id="l35"/>to be had for any Losses <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> private persons may susteine <lb xml:id="l36"/>by Reduceing <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coine of Scotland to the standard &amp; value <lb xml:id="l37"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coine of England may be made good</hi> By Her <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">aj</hi><hi rend="superscript">tes</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l38"/>most <choice><abbr>H<hi rend="overline">o</hi>n<hi rend="superscript">ble</hi>.</abbr><expan>Honourable</expan></choice> Privy Councill of Scotland haveing appointed this <lb xml:id="l39"/>melting of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> old Money into Ingots.
