Kelley <choice><sic>Shomaker</sic><corr>Shoemaker</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l2"/>late of Dublin 22<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> Aug<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. 98</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">She saith that she washt Linnin for M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Edward Iones <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">als</hi></abbr><expan>alias</expan></choice> Ivie <lb xml:id="l3"/><choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 months before he was apprehended, and that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> a month ago <lb xml:id="l4"/>she came out of Ireland to find her husband in London and at <lb xml:id="l5"/>the desire of the said Ivy's wife she called of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivie in Chester <lb xml:id="l6"/>Prison and there<choice><orig> </orig><reg/></choice>upon M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Ivie told her that it lay in her way to <lb xml:id="l7"/>do him a kindnes and desired her not to go from him till his <lb xml:id="l8"/>wife came to him out of Ireland and the next day which <lb xml:id="l9"/>was Sunday he said to this <choice><abbr>Exam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Examinant</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> neither of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l10"/>two women which lived with him in Dublin. M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi> <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">Iones</unclear> <lb xml:id="l11"/>and M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>. Iones who und<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>er</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> name went for his wife

                    were his wife and cursing them that now they had got of him as much as they <lb xml:id="l12"/>had a mind to they would not come near him And he said further <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> he had a <lb xml:id="l13"/>mind to make his escape and that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Exam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Examinant</expan></choice> might be serviceable to him + <lb xml:id="l14"/>for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> end he gave her money to buy a Salle and spatter Dashes and the <choice><abbr>Exam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Examinant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/>asking him why he would go he answer<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> that if he staid he must swear <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l16"/>those two men meaning Brady and Iennings and he would not be guilty <lb xml:id="l17"/>of spilling of inocent blood and he was affraid <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> those 2 bitches had <lb xml:id="l18"/>sworn <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> him and the <choice><abbr>Exam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Examinant</expan></choice> replying surly they would not offer it <lb xml:id="l19"/>he answer<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> Lord bless me they'l do any thing they would swear <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> me <lb xml:id="l20"/>she saith also that the next day which was Munday th<unclear reason="hand" cert="low">ese</unclear> women <lb xml:id="l21"/>Mrs Iones and Ivy c<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>me to Chester and on Wednesday following he made <lb xml:id="l22"/>his escape going <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 28 miles towards London and was retaken by the <lb xml:id="l23"/>She<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">r</hi></orig><reg>rr</reg></choice>iffe. She sayth also <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> the said Ivy said to her severall times <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l24"/>Capt Iennings (meaning M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Iennings above men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oned) was a stranger <lb xml:id="l25"/>to him and on the saturday above men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> he said that his <choice><sic>Concience</sic><corr>Conscience</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l26"/>troubled him but he would tell her more of it and the next day he <lb xml:id="l27"/>explained himself more at large <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> it as is above men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">con</hi></orig><reg>tion</reg></choice>ed</p>
