                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">She saith <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> she hath known M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ennings <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 5 <lb xml:id="l2"/>years ago in London but never saw him in Ireland till <lb xml:id="l3"/><choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 months ago when he was taken into custody in <lb xml:id="l4"/>Dublin and that she first saw them togeather in Croydon <lb xml:id="l5"/>at M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Nortops house <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 5 yeares ago and <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 months <lb xml:id="l6"/>after she saw m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ennings at mr. Ivyes house in Lucabone <choice><abbr>st<hi rend="overline">r</hi></abbr><expan>street</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l7"/>in London where he staid <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> an hour with m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivie in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Garden <lb xml:id="l8"/>in the Arb<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>or</reg></choice> and after <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> another hour in the house And while the <choice><abbr><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>d</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l9"/>Iennings staid in the arbor he pulled out a handfull of Guineas <choice><orig><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice></orig><reg>which</reg></choice> the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> believes could be scarsefewer then an hundred and <choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> to mr <lb xml:id="l10"/>Ivy that he had heard <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> he (mr Ivie) had a great conveniency of <lb xml:id="l11"/>putting away <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> and <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> those were very good ones and would <lb xml:id="l12"/>hold weight and touch and mr. Ivie thinking their acquaintance <lb xml:id="l13"/>too small reply<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> that he had not convenience of passing them <lb xml:id="l14"/>away and added that this was Chandler, and m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Iennings <lb xml:id="l15"/>made answer no it was not it was an Injenious Gentleman <lb xml:id="l16"/>and he <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> joyned Stocks and there was no body in <lb xml:id="l17"/>the house els but a Widdow dowm who watch<supplied reason="foxed" cert="high">ed</supplied>

                    at the door while they did the buisines for fear of a surprize + <lb xml:id="l18"/>that they want a third person to joyn with them and he knew <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l19"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivie was able to advance 100<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">l</hi></hi>. and if he would joyn with <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">m</hi>.</abbr><expan>them</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l20"/>they should do better he further desired mr Ivie to take one of <lb xml:id="l21"/>the <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> for a pattern to shew to any friend but mr. Ivie refused <lb xml:id="l22"/>to medle. Afterwards when he came into the house he pulled out <lb xml:id="l23"/>againe a handfull of <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> to shew the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> + M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivie + <lb xml:id="l24"/>proposed to the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> she should go with him (Iennings) into <lb xml:id="l25"/>the Countrey and put them off as they ridd <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> and moved mr. <lb xml:id="l26"/>Ivie to perswade her to it but the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> refused saying <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l27"/>she was a very ill Horsewoman she saith also <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <choice><sic>he</sic><corr>she</corr></choice> had <lb xml:id="l28"/>seen M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Iennings 4 or 5 times before this time but after <lb xml:id="l29"/>this time she saw him no more till about 3 months ago <lb xml:id="l30"/>She saith also that <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ennings said that he had passed a great many <lb xml:id="l31"/>of them away and that <choice><sic>that</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice> they were so good that they never <lb xml:id="l32"/>were suspected and to the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> they looked to be <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">very</add> fine that <lb xml:id="l33"/>she should readily have taken them without suspecting them</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">She saith also <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> she hath for these 5 or 6 yeares heard a very <lb xml:id="l34"/>ill report of Edward Brady for robbing and clipping and putting <lb xml:id="l35"/>off False money but she knoweth nothing of him but by hearsay <lb xml:id="l36"/>she saith further that m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Gibbons one of the yeoman posted <lb xml:id="l37"/>at Whitehall <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 5 or 6 years ago came severall times to m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. <lb xml:id="l38"/>Ivie's house and coming into m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivy's Closset askt him for some <lb xml:id="l39"/>money saying (in the Deponent's hearing) that he had been <lb xml:id="l40"/>amongst his Pen<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oners and could get none and <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>.</abbr><expan>when</expan></choice> m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivie <lb xml:id="l41"/>said that he had none the said Gibbons hath put his hand <lb xml:id="l42"/>where some money lay (as it did sometimes open in a bagg <lb xml:id="l43"/>upon the Table) M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ivy was fain to give him some part of <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l44"/>was there. she saith also that the said Gibbons hath often <lb xml:id="l45"/>spoken in the Deponent's hearing concerning his Pen<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oners and <lb xml:id="l46"/>practises <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> Clippers and Coyners and <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>par</reg></choice>ticularly how meeting a <lb xml:id="l47"/>woman in the street whom he suspected to have clipt money <lb xml:id="l48"/><choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> her he seized her with an hundred pound bagg of clipt money <lb xml:id="l49"/>upon her and had her before mr. Overton and another <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ustice <lb xml:id="l50"/>of the peace who sealed up the bagg and delivered it to him <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l51"/>said Gibbons to keep and that afterwards for a gratuity he <lb xml:id="l52"/>contrived the following way to bring the woman off viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. he <lb xml:id="l53"/>opened the bottom of the bagg took out some of the clipt money <lb xml:id="l54"/>put in some good mony instead of it sealed it up again <lb xml:id="l55"/>and dirty<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> the bottom that the new sowing might not

                    be perceived and <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">n</hi></abbr><expan>when</expan></choice> the Bagg was opened at her tryall the broad <lb xml:id="l56"/>money being mixed with the narrow bought her off with creddit</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">The <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> saith also that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 5 years ago she hath heard the <choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l57"/>Gibbons say that he had sent his mistress to Market and given her <lb xml:id="l58"/>some <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> but what markets she would make he Did not know <lb xml:id="l59"/>and <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>.</abbr><expan>when</expan></choice> he was askt if he did them himselfe he answered no <lb xml:id="l60"/><choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ack Hickes and Cogswell did them for him and he gave them so much <lb xml:id="l61"/>in the pound for doing them but how much the Deponent <choice><abbr>re<hi rend="overline">mbe</hi>rs</abbr><expan>remembers</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l62"/>not and that at another time the said Gibbons told her that he had <lb xml:id="l63"/>been with an acquaintance of his and found them at work and <lb xml:id="l64"/>clapt his hand in and took a handfull of rough Money but did not <lb xml:id="l65"/>know <choice><orig/><reg><supplied reason="omitted" cert="high">how</supplied></reg></choice> much he had of it and being askt <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> he would do with it replyed <lb xml:id="l66"/>he had not lived to these yeares but he could tell <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> to do <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> it <lb xml:id="l67"/>she saith also <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> she hath seen <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Hickes at his house in Chelsea <lb xml:id="l68"/><choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 4 or 5 yeares ago togeather with his daughter Mary <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="10"/> <lb xml:id="l69"/>and a man called <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ones clip the Current Coyn of this Kingdom, and <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l70"/>she hath also seen the wife of <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Hickes file the money <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> they <lb xml:id="l71"/>had clipt</p>
