                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">Since <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">mnie</unclear> of 5 instant wee have a new exam<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ined</reg></choice> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn <lb xml:id="l2"/>Bate a Copy of whose examina<choice><orig>c</orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on is inclosed + have <lb xml:id="l3"/>thereupon apprehended Hulbert and for want of <lb xml:id="l4"/>Suretyes have Committ<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> him to Gaol although wee have <lb xml:id="l5"/>only suspi<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on on him and Bate says he can make nothing <lb xml:id="l6"/>out more then hearsay from Field therefore depended <lb xml:id="l7"/>on a Discovery in searching his house which has failed <lb xml:id="l8"/>although has been wanting in order thereto the <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice>sons <lb xml:id="l9"/>therein named Field and Smith are Fled from Iustice <lb xml:id="l10"/>so that you must consult methods for their app<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>re</reg></choice>hension <lb xml:id="l11"/>Field has lived at Chester supposed a Native of Staffords<choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">h</hi></abbr><expan>hire</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l12"/>has gone by the names of <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohnson and Smith of midle <lb xml:id="l13"/>size and stature some<choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> ruddy his own hair dark brown <lb xml:id="l14"/>wearing a bobb Wigg 35 years of age and down lookt <lb xml:id="l15"/>a most Excellent Workman at Engraving but a great <lb xml:id="l16"/>Drinker the other person called Smith is very like him <lb xml:id="l17"/>but somewhat Taller and big<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>ger</reg></choice> Bate suspects them to <lb xml:id="l18"/>be gone for Oxford I am</p>
