                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">Having Informa<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on that Thomas Boddily men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oned in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l1"/>Examina<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on of <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Bates was at the Bath <choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on Iustices <lb xml:id="l2"/>here caused him to be there apprehended and sent the <lb xml:id="l3"/>Informa<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on of Bates a Copy whereof is inclosed over to <lb xml:id="l4"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Mayor and the Alderman of Bath who have since <lb xml:id="l5"/>Committed Boddily to <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">Iuel</unclear> Chester Gaol I hear by this <lb xml:id="l6"/>dayes post from M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Gray that Adam Clempson one of <lb xml:id="l7"/>the persons named in Bates former Examina<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on to be <lb xml:id="l8"/>a putter <choice><sic>of</sic><corr>off</corr></choice> of Counterfeit money is by Iustice Gray <lb xml:id="l9"/>Committed to Gaol I wish you success in the prosecution + <lb xml:id="l10"/>the rooting out this Nest of Rogues and am</p>

Humfries the person <lb xml:id="l11"/>that there seiz<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> Bates that <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>.</abbr><expan>when</expan></choice> in London <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> he left <lb xml:id="l12"/>the 10 instant he was inform<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi></orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> by Henry Prewett late of <lb xml:id="l13"/>the <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>par</reg></choice>ish of Britton near this City now <choice><abbr>Serv<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Servant</expan></choice> to <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Cox <lb xml:id="l14"/>who keeps the living Tyger a Shew at that time by the <lb xml:id="l15"/>Stocks <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">arkt</hi></abbr><expan>Market</expan></choice> London That Field the Engrav<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>er</reg></choice> was come <lb xml:id="l16"/>from Bristoll and used the house where that shew <lb xml:id="l17"/>then was wherefore Humphrys went to that house to <lb xml:id="l18"/>seek after Field but did not see him And left <lb xml:id="l19"/>direc<choice><orig>c</orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons with one M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Libley keeping a Glass shop <lb xml:id="l20"/>near the stocks <choice><abbr>mark<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>market</expan></choice> to enquire after him but has <lb xml:id="l21"/>not heard any thing of him so that if you cause <lb xml:id="l22"/>strict search to be made and examine Prewet <lb xml:id="l23"/>you may in liklyhood apprehend Field from whom <lb xml:id="l24"/>a very great discovery may be expected In case Prewet <lb xml:id="l25"/>be backward in the matter you may remember him <lb xml:id="l26"/>he told Humphries that Smith who went hence <lb xml:id="l27"/>with Field supposed to be his <choice><abbr>bro<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>brother</expan></choice> was hanger for robbing <lb xml:id="l28"/>on the highway and after Field was gone out <lb xml:id="l29"/>of the house Humphries not knowing him Prewet told <lb xml:id="l30"/>Humphries the man then gone forth was Field <unclear reason="hand" cert="medium">sent</unclear> <lb xml:id="l31"/>from Bristoll I am</p>
