The Informaction of Katherine Clark wife of Michael Clark a Soldjer in the RegimtRegiment of Dutch foot Guards 7 Aprill 1699

Who saith that abot.about 3 weeks ago she was at the Lodging of Phillip Williams in the ꝑparish of St. Mary White Chappell and this Informt.Informant did then and there see the said Phillip Williams take two shillings and 3 sixpences and the sdsaid Williams took a knife and with it endeavourded to cut and make upon the shillsllings and sixpences things in imitaction of the Scepters that are upon GineasGuineas and half GineasGuineas and afterwards rubd.bed the sdsaid Shillings + six pences with Quicksilver and then Blanch the wife of the sdsaid Williams coverded the sdsaid Shillings + Sixpences over with Leafe Gold to make them look like GineasGuineas and then put them put them upon some Small Coal to heat and afterwards put the sdsaid money into Urin and then rubded it with a Wyer Brush and the sdsaid Blanch Williams would have had this Informt.Informant to have taken one of the Shillings (so coverded with leafe Gold as aforesdoresaid and have put it off or paid oit away to an Old woman that sells Hatts for a GineaGuinea and the sdsaid Phillip Williams and Blanch his wife would have had this InformtInformant to have gone into the countrey with them to have put away false GineasGuineas half GineasGuineas and Pistolls and the Method that this InformtInformant was to take to put them away was to have a Good GineaGuinea or half GineaGuinea or Pistoll and a bad one and if she this InformtInformant was questionded for offering of a false GineaGuinea she might then change it with yethe Good GineaGuinea and say that she received it in Holland and she being a Dutch woman did not understand English money
