                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Chaloner says he hath acted nothing in opposition to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Carter only in <lb xml:id="l1"/>procuring 2 or 3 witnesses to give in their oathes that they say him cut <lb xml:id="l2"/>the plate in pieces that made the Mault <choice><abbr>Tick<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi>.</abbr><expan>Tickets</expan></choice> I think he sayes that <lb xml:id="l3"/>M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>. Scott is one of his evidence he likewise confirms to me that theres <lb xml:id="l4"/>nothing of injenuity to be <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice>formed in Coyn or paper but he can effect <lb xml:id="l5"/>with ease as soon as he can obtain his liberty is for stepping over <lb xml:id="l6"/>to Holland to bite 3 or 4000 banknotes there called Lumbard bills <lb xml:id="l7"/>he says that he can counterfeit any mans hand at sight + to prove it <lb xml:id="l8"/>tells me <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> he counterfeited an order for 3<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">ll</hi></hi>. to <unclear reason="hand" cert="low"><choice><sic>receeave</sic><corr>receive</corr></choice></unclear> in Clothes <lb xml:id="l9"/>of the Mary Yatent a scotch Vessell how that the man <lb xml:id="l10"/>whose hand he counterfeited will not believe but it is his <lb xml:id="l11"/>own he says upon this very note Gillingham hath <lb xml:id="l12"/>had a triall with two scotchmen and cast them he  <lb xml:id="l13"/>moreover tells me that he can wash whole lines and <lb xml:id="l14"/>repair them againe not to be discerned though held <lb xml:id="l15"/><choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> a Candle</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">His <choice><abbr>Sollicit<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sollicitor</expan></choice> Hunt was yesterday with the <unclear reason="hand" cert="high"><choice><abbr>mr</abbr><expan>master</expan></choice></unclear> of <lb xml:id="l16"/>the Bank who <choice><abbr>order<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>ordered</expan></choice> him to go to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Inch the Clerk + <lb xml:id="l17"/>take him with him to the Recorder by M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Inch could not <lb xml:id="l18"/>be found</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4">Some friend of m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Chaloner was yesterday to speak <lb xml:id="l19"/>with 7 of the Grand Iury to throw out the bills the Iury men <lb xml:id="l20"/>he says lives in S<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn street</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par5">He tells me Ioanna Gillingham's daughter in Law  <lb xml:id="l21"/>hath the Mault Ticket plate in her custody he says that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l22"/>plate was designed as a Tryall for afterwards he was to make <lb xml:id="l23"/>one of a 100<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">ll</hi></hi> he says he told of a new way of Coyning and how <lb xml:id="l24"/>they have acquainted the Secretary with it he likewise hired <lb xml:id="l25"/>Holloway to go to Scotland</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par6">He tells me hath mault Tickets ready printed but he doubts <lb xml:id="l26"/>they are damaged by lying wett if not I shall have some of them <lb xml:id="l27"/>to shew my friend</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par7">he tells me he fears one Coomes to come <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> him</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8">I have been as curious as I could to pick what I could out of m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Cha: <lb xml:id="l28"/><choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>hono<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>honour</expan></choice> may judge of the truth of this matter by the Circumstances <lb xml:id="l29"/>men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oned I am in great hopes of procuring a Mault Ticket of him <lb xml:id="l30"/>if not the plate I hope your honour will accepting my service <lb xml:id="l31"/>who study's to render himself</p>

                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par11">I am not certain whether I have men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>oned how M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Deacon filed only edges <lb xml:id="l32"/>of 2 good <choice><abbr>sh<hi rend="overline">ill</hi></abbr><expan>shilling</expan></choice>s and edged them again with the edger <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <unclear reason="hand" cert="medium">Shaw</unclear> made <lb xml:id="l33"/>this was done in the Chamber up one pair of staires at his house in <lb xml:id="l34"/>Leadenhall market the file as taken out of a Drawer in the Table <lb xml:id="l35"/>and seemed to have the colour of Gold Dust in it the Notes I sent <lb xml:id="l36"/>to Iustice Railton was for your <choice><abbr>hon<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>honour</expan></choice> but he said he was goeing <lb xml:id="l37"/>directly to you and it was a<choice><unclear reason="hand">ll</unclear><unclear reason="hand">tt</unclear></choice> one I hope your <choice><abbr>hono<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>honour</expan></choice> will not take <lb xml:id="l38"/>it ill</p>
