                <p xml:id="par1">May it please your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> <lb type="intentional" xml:id="l2"/>In obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> order of the Reference of May 6<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> <lb xml:id="l3"/><del type="strikethrough">(brought to us Iune 30<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>)</del> upon the annexed Proposal of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <choice><abbr>W<hi rend="superscript">m</hi></abbr><expan>William</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l4"/>Morgan &amp; others <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">brought to us by the Proposer Iune 30<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></add> for taking in the old copper money &amp; coyning <lb xml:id="l5"/>a thousand Tunns of better copper money in its stead <del type="cancelled">in</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">within the term of</add> seven <lb xml:id="l6"/>years, provided the loss <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> they may sustain by changing the <lb xml:id="l7"/>old money for the new &amp; the interest of forty thousand pounds <lb xml:id="l8"/>dead stock may be allowed them over &amp; above the price of the new <lb xml:id="l9"/>metal &amp; charges of coynage: We have considered the same &amp; <lb xml:id="l10"/>are humbly of the opinion that the loss <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> <del type="strikethrough">the nation</del> would <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">be</add> sustein <lb xml:id="l11"/>by melting down the old copper money &amp; the interest of the <lb xml:id="l12"/>dead stock would amount to above eighty thousand pounds &amp; <lb xml:id="l13"/>are an unnecessary charge, &amp; that the coynage of a thousand <lb xml:id="l14"/>Tunns would make a <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">very</add> great clamour, six hundred Tunns <lb xml:id="l15"/>being sufficient to stock the nation. And we further humbly <lb xml:id="l16"/>represent that a <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">constant</add> coynage of about eight or ten Tunns <lb xml:id="l17"/>per <choice><abbr>an̄</abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> may be sufficient to supply the yearly wast of <lb xml:id="l18"/>the present copper money, that such a small coynage is <lb xml:id="l19"/>safest but not yet wanting, that it may be above ten or <lb xml:id="l20"/>twelve years before the coynage of an hundred Tunns <lb xml:id="l21"/>shall be wanting &amp; that a greater coinage will not be <lb xml:id="l22"/>advisable untill there be a great &amp; general complaint <lb xml:id="l23"/>of the want of copper money.</p>
