                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">I am very glad that at last I can give you a <lb xml:id="l1"/>good proof of my friendship, and the esteem the <lb xml:id="l2"/>King has of your Merits. M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Overton the Warden <lb xml:id="l3"/>of the Mint is made one of the <choice><abbr>Comrs</abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of the Customes <lb xml:id="l4"/>and the King has <lb xml:id="l5"/>promised Me to make M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Newton <lb xml:id="l6"/>Warden of the Mint, the Office is the most proper <lb xml:id="l7"/>for you 'tis the Chief Officer in the Mint, 'tis worth <lb xml:id="l8"/>five or six hundred pounds <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><expan>per</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>An.</abbr><expan>Annum</expan></choice> and has not too <lb xml:id="l9"/>much bus'nesse to require more attendance then <lb xml:id="l10"/>you may spare. I desire you will come up as soon <lb xml:id="l11"/>as you can, and I will take care of your Warrant <lb xml:id="l12"/>in the mean time. Pray give my humble service <lb xml:id="l13"/>to John Lawton, I am sorry I have not been able <lb xml:id="l14"/>to assist him hitherto, but I hope He will be pro<lb xml:id="l15"/>vided for ere long, and tell him that the session <lb xml:id="l16"/>is near ending and I expect to have his company <pb xml:id="f1v" n="1v"/>when I am able to enjoy it; let me see you <lb xml:id="l17"/>as soon as you come to Town, that I may carry <lb xml:id="l18"/>you to kiss the Kings hand, I beleive you may <lb xml:id="l19"/>have a lodging near Me.
