                <p rend="center" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="large"><choice><sic>Breife</sic><corr>Brief</corr></choice> Observations concerning the Tryall of <lb xml:id="l1"/>the moneyes in the Pix.</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par2"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">1.</add> An Order of their <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> &amp; C<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>uncil <del type="cancelled">to</del> appoint<add place="inline" indicator="no">ing</add> a Day <lb xml:id="l2"/>for the tryall of the Pix at the usuall place near the <lb xml:id="l3"/>Starr Chamber <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at nine in the morning</add>. And the <choice><sic>Chanellour</sic><corr>Chancellour</corr></choice> of the <choice><abbr>Excheq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Exchequer</expan></choice> to be attended <add place="inline interlinear" indicator="no">about <lb xml:id="l4"/>a Dinner for the Iury. It hath been usually provided at the Dog Tavern in the Palace <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">yard.</add></add></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">2</add> The Lord Chancellour or Lord Ke<del type="over">p</del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>per doth send his <lb xml:id="l5"/>Letter directed to the Warden <del type="over">&amp;</del><add place="over" indicator="no">of</add> <add place="inline" indicator="no"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></add> Company of the Goldsmiths <lb xml:id="l6"/>to return <del type="strikethrough">them</del> the names of an able Iury.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">3.</add> The Lord<del type="cancelled">s</del> C<del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add>ancellor or Lord Keeper after the return <lb xml:id="l7"/>of the names doth send his warrant by his Sergeant at <lb xml:id="l8"/>arms or his <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">serjeants</add> Deputy to warn the Iury to meet at the time &amp; place <add place="inline" indicator="no">appointed.</add></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><add place="inline" indicator="no">4 At nine in the morning the Pix is set on the Table &amp; <del type="strikethrough">took after</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">before ten</add></add></p>
                
                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par6"><del type="strikethrough">At the Starr Chamber</del></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par7">The Lords do meet &amp; take their places</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par8"><del type="strikethrough">The Pix Box set on the Table</del> the officers of the <lb xml:id="l9"/>Mint &amp; Iury <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> the Exchequer Officers attending.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par9">The Lord<del type="cancelled">s</del> C<del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add>ancellor or <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Keeper doth call to his <lb xml:id="l10"/>Sergeant at Arms for the said Warrant for summoning <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">at</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">of</add> <lb xml:id="l11"/>the Iury &amp; appoints the same to be delivered to th<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">is</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> Re<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l12"/>membrancers Deputy who attends there<del type="cancelled">with</del> with the copy <lb xml:id="l13"/>of the Oath.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par10">The Pix <del type="strikethrough">Box</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">(or Boxes)</del></add> is opened by the Officers of the Mint <lb xml:id="l14"/>&amp; the Gold &amp; Silver moneyes therein poured upon the Table.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par11">And then the Lord<del type="cancelled">s</del> Chancellour or Lord Keeper doth <lb xml:id="l15"/>cause <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">the Iury to be called over by their names in the said Warrant &amp;</add> the sai<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add> Oath to be administred to the <add place="inline" indicator="no">m</add> <del type="strikethrough">Iury.</del></p>
                
                <p rend="center" xml:id="par12"><hi rend="large">Which being done</hi></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par13">The Lord Treasurer or Lords <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="superscript">ers</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of the Treasu<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l16"/>ry do appoint the standard Tory weights &amp; the indented <lb xml:id="l17"/>tryall pieces of his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Crown Gold m<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>neys &amp; standard <lb xml:id="l18"/>silver moneyes kept in the Treasury to be delivered out for <lb xml:id="l19"/>the use of the Iury, <add place="inline interlinear" indicator="no">&amp; the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Chancellour compares the triall pieces <lb xml:id="l20"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> those of the Mint.</add></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par14">Then the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Chancellour or <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Keeper doth recom<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l21"/>mend unto the Iury the making the tryalls of the moneys <lb xml:id="l22"/>in the Pix by the said standards of their <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Treasury <lb xml:id="l23"/>as well in weight as in fineness &amp; in the most just manner <lb xml:id="l24"/>that can bee, it being a business of very publick concern.</p>

                <p xml:id="par15">The Lord Chancellour or <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Keeper doth appoint the <lb xml:id="l25"/>Iury when they have agreed on their Veredict, where &amp; <add place="inline" indicator="no">at</add> what <lb xml:id="l26"/>time to a<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>tend their Lordshipps with the same, &amp; so departs <lb xml:id="l27"/>with the rest of the Lords</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par16">When the Iury present their Veredict to the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l28"/>Chancellour of <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> Keeper, the Remembrancer's Deputy attends <lb xml:id="l29"/>to read it &amp; after it is read to receive it.</p>
