<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">I rec<choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">d</hi></abbr><expan>eived</expan></choice> your kind present, &amp; am convinc'd the world will be the more <lb xml:id="l1"/>impatient for your <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>account</expan></choice> of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac, by reading the Elogium. I have <lb xml:id="l2"/>not been able to collect any thing further, material to your purpose <lb xml:id="l3"/><supplied reason="damage" source="transcription">tho'</supplied> I have not spar'd enquirys. I have got an extract from the <lb xml:id="l4"/>register of Westby but nothing in it significant. I shall endeavor <lb xml:id="l5"/>to assist D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Newton (who is no extraordinary penman) to answer <lb xml:id="l6"/>all your querys, as fully as possible. Your <choice><abbr>Coz.</abbr><expan>Cozen</expan></choice> Newton Smith <lb xml:id="l7"/>is in a languishing condition. If you reserv'd any copys of the <lb xml:id="l8"/>Chronology from the Printer, I shall beg the addition to your <lb xml:id="l9"/>favors, of one to be left for me at Bettesworths the bookseller <lb xml:id="l10"/>in Pater noster row: but not that you need to buy one. I am per<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l11"/>suaded you will soon be master of materials enough to give us a full <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>account</expan></choice> of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs life. the sheet you sent D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Newton <lb xml:id="l12"/>is certainly <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs hand writing, I have another sheet before <lb xml:id="l13"/>me from among <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs papers relating to his estate, of the <lb xml:id="l14"/>very same hand.
