<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">I rec<choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">d</hi></abbr><expan>eived</expan></choice> the favor of yours. &amp; last Saturday sent to D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Mead one sheet <lb xml:id="l1"/>of the memoirs of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs life. another I send to him to day. <lb xml:id="l2"/>I told the D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. I had since I liv'd here collected every thing I could meet <lb xml:id="l3"/>with <choice><sic>relatings</sic><corr>relating</corr></choice> to it, for my own curiosity, &amp; out of the great respect <lb xml:id="l4"/>I bore <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac; &amp; was glad to hear that the publication of his life <lb xml:id="l5"/>is fallen into so good hands as yours. &amp; I shall be highly pleased if <lb xml:id="l6"/>I can be assisting to you therein. the D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. will transmit those Sheets <lb xml:id="l7"/>to you, &amp; I submit them intirely to your <choice><abbr>judgem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>judgement</expan></choice> likewise what altera<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l8"/>tions or additions I shall chance to make to them in reasonable time <lb xml:id="l9"/>I will take care to send you. I had the misfortune to fall under <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l10"/>Isaac's displeasure for many years on <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>account</expan></choice> of putting up for Secretary <lb xml:id="l11"/><choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>: Iurin: or these papers would have been much fuller. for I <lb xml:id="l12"/>should have taken pains in it in his life time. &amp; two or 3 people are <lb xml:id="l13"/>lately dead that would have been of great service in this <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>account</expan></choice> I <lb xml:id="l14"/>believe I shall have another sheet or two.</p>
<p xml:id="par3">I don't wonder that there are divisions in the Society now the great <lb xml:id="l15"/>Soul &amp; genius of it has left them ———</p>
