<p xml:id="par2">You are certainly in the right that <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac was posthumous, I <lb xml:id="l1"/>was inadvertently led into the mistake, by the silly custom of beginning <lb xml:id="l2"/>the year at Ladyday. D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>: Newton of our town is the person I mean by <lb xml:id="l3"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Newton, it was according to his own order. &amp; all the information <lb xml:id="l4"/>he is able to give, you have there: I have sent to D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Mead this <lb xml:id="l5"/>post another sheet which is the last. I have spoke to the minister <lb xml:id="l6"/>of Westby &amp; other places to search their registers, about <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs <lb xml:id="l7"/>ancestors, &amp; intend to see what <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Michael Newton our neighbor <lb xml:id="l8"/>has about it. &amp; have made other requests where there seems <lb xml:id="l9"/>any likelyhood of receiving informations, which you shall see when <lb xml:id="l10"/>I have them.</p>

<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8">Tis not unlikely that you may have in your hands <lb xml:id="l11"/>a spare copy of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs Principia, if so, I <lb xml:id="l12"/>shall esteem it an acceptable present.</p>
