<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8">Last thursday we performed the initiation ceremony upon the young <lb xml:id="l1"/><choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton. the <choice><abbr>D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Doctor</expan></choice> gave us a very handsom entertainment <lb xml:id="l2"/>&amp; your health &amp; <choice type="oldCorr"><sic><gap reason="illgbl" extent="1" unit="words"/></sic><corr>Your</corr></choice> Ladys were frequently remembred. I gave <lb xml:id="l3"/>the Midwife a guinea the chief nurse half a guinea &amp; eleven <lb xml:id="l4"/>shillings away among the servants. on saturday I received the <lb xml:id="l5"/>chronology which seems to be a very curious piece, &amp; for which <lb xml:id="l6"/>I am extremely obligd to you. this day I heard of several <lb xml:id="l7"/>letters of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaacs to D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>: Covel then Vicechancellor of the <lb xml:id="l8"/>university of Cambridg whilst <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac was their represen<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l9"/>tative in parliament, which perhaps will let us a little into <lb xml:id="l10"/>his Political capacity. they are now in Suffolk &amp; I am pro<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l11"/>misd to have a sight of them &amp; will send you an account of <lb xml:id="l12"/>what I can judg may be useful to you. I will take care <lb xml:id="l13"/>speedily to answer your querys sent to D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>: Newton.</p>
