<p>The whole of SL255 was bought at the 1936 Sotheby sale by Emmanuel Fabius for £13.10s. This portion was offered (but not sold) as section 9 of Lot 511 at the 2004 New York Sotheby sale. It was then offered as Lot 91 at the 22 February 2007 PBA Galleries auction in San Francisco with an estimate of $12,000-$15,000 US but remained unsold.</p>

<p xml:id="par2">And this adhering of the Nazarenes to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Law of Moses at <lb xml:id="l3"/>length gave occasion to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> converted <del type="cancelled">Iews</del> Gentiles to look upon the Nazarenes <lb xml:id="l4"/>&amp; especially that <del type="cancelled">Ebi</del> branch of them called Ebionites as hereticks &amp; to <lb xml:id="l5"/>anathematize them. For Ierome tells us that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Ebionites were anathematized <lb xml:id="l6"/>only for mingling the ceremonies of the Law with the Gospel. <foreign xml:lang="lat">Cerinthus <lb xml:id="l7"/>&amp; Hebion <del type="strikethrough">propter hoc solum</del> credentes in Christo, propter hoc solum a <lb xml:id="l8"/>patribus anathematizati sunt quod legis ceremonias Christi evangelio miscuerunt. <lb xml:id="l9"/>Hieron.
