In obedience to yor Lordps Order {illeg} \signified to me by Mr Scrope's Letter of {sic}/ of 10 Apr. 1724, concerning
the trial of the Pix of copper moneys coyned at by Mr Wood at Bristow
I humbly represent that the moneys there reserved for a trial {illeg}|a|re
kept under two locked up in a box under the keyes of Mr Woo the
deputies of Mr Wood & Controller of that coynage. And \in me {sic} most humble opinion/ the trial
thereof will \may/ be most|re| authentic \|& satisfact/ory\| & \something/ cheaper/ if the Box \before opening thereof/ be brought up \under lock & key/ to London
& the moneys tried\the opened the moneys tried/ in his {illeg}|M|ajesties Mint \& the monies tried there/ before the two parties \(Mr Wood & the Con)/ & |& the| \\before/ the Officers of ye Mint/ & such other \person or/ persons as your Lordps shall appoint to be present{.} & to
report the trial to your Lordps. And at the same time any other
parcel of or parcels of \copper/ moneys old or new may be trie{s}|d| \there/ & the {illeg}
weight & value ascertained, & compared with the value of the \said/ copper
money coyned at Bristow, & \the trial/ reported to your Lordps.
In obedience to your Lordps Order signified to me by Mr Scrope in his Letter of 10 Apr. 1724 concerning the trial of the \Pix of/ copper moneys coyned by Mr Wood at Bristow, I humbly represent that the moneys there reserved for a trial are kept locked up in a box or Pix under the keys of the Deputies Mr Wood & the Comptroller of that Coynage. And in my most humble opinion the trial thereof may be more authentic & satisfactory & something cheaper if the Box before opening be brought up to London & the moneys be tried in his Maties Min{illeg}|t| \by his Mats Assaymaster/ before \②/the two parties Mr Wood & the Comptroller of that Coynage who are \both/ in London, & before the Officers of the Mint \{illeg}/ & \before ③/ such other person or persons as your Lordps shall appoint to present & to report the trial to your Lordps, {sic} \{illeg}|A|nd before {one} \{or two}/ \one or/ /two\ Gentlema|e|n of Ireland w{illeg}|h|o may have your Lordps leave to be present if they desire|{d}| \it//. And at that same time any other parcel or parcells of copper moneys old or new may be tried there before the same persons & the weight & value ascertained & compared with the \value of the/ copper money now coyned at Bristow & the trial reported to your Lordps. |[|And if any copper money \shall be complained of as/ lighter or coursed|r| {sic} then then {sic} that \now/ kept in the Pix at Bristow hath been \be complained of as {sent} & yet/ sent into Ireland soe \by Mr Wood or his deputy/ & be complained of we can & a parcel thereof be sent{illeg} to us at any time hereafter, we can then see it ass{illeg}|a|yed \it {till} may be then assay in like manne{illeg}|r|{omper}/ & rep the value\the deficiency/ reported too your Lordps.|]|
But if your Lorps had rather that the Assays be made \copper Pix be tried/ at Bristow, I will look about for a man, {sic} to do it, {illeg}|&| agree\treat/ with him, & see him \instructed &/ furnished with necessaries with all speed.
All wch is most humbly submitted to yor Lordps great wisdome
|[|And if any \|other| considerable quantity parcels specimen of {sic}/ of the copper money wch hath been sent into Ireland |[|by Mr Wood or his deputy shall be complained of a lighter or coarser then that now kept in the Pix at Bristow \Mr Woods Patent allow/ & a parcel\specimen/ thereof|]| be sent to us at any time hereafter, it may be then assay in like manner & the deficiency\value/ reported to your Lordps.|]|

The Clerks & under o|O|fficer of the Mint whose salaries were not above 40li pr an have had lately had their salaries increased by one fift\fourth/ part by a signe manual except the Porter \Mr Lowe |Mr Lowe of the| |Mint|/. And I humbly pray |that the| Porter whose \that Lowe his/ salary \wch/ is but 20li per an, may in like manner have his salary be increased to 25li per an.
Wch is most
